I’ll be Back, Land of the Thunderbolt
May 6, 2006, Amrita Arora– Celebrity & Bollywood Actress
I believe in the philosophy Variety is the spice of life. Whether it is experimenting with what I wear or what I eat, I like trying it all. I am very fond of good food and can’t really state a particular cuisine that is my favourite. I love experiment and consider it the fun of life. I have a whole list of places I frequently visit and deem as great joints. But since that list is far too long to share, here are my pet places in Mumbai,Delhi, Bangalore and Goa.

In Mumbai you must visit

Olive Bar and Kitchen : Great vibe and ambience.
Suggest : The Spanish Pizza; it’s absolutely amazing.
Location : 14 Union Park, Khar.
Tel : 26058228

Soul Fry : Chilled out place for the young to just hang out.
Suggest : Soul Fry on Monday, as it is Karaoke Night.
Location : Pali Mala Road, Bandra.
Tel : 26046892

Thai Pavilion : Authentic and scrumptious Thai food.
Suggest : Green curry and boiled rice. It’s their best dish.
Location : Hotel Taj President, Cuffe Parade.
Tel : 56650808

China Gate : Serves the best Chinese food in Mumbai.
Suggest : Pot rice and Schezwan fish.
Location : Rajan Nivas, 155 Waterfield Road, Bandra West.
Tel : 26432570, 26452600, 26453581

Moti Mahal : If you want to eat delicious Indian food this is the perfect place for you.
Suggest: The Tandoori chicken and dal is yum!
Location : Turner Road, Bandra.
Tel : 26408577

I would also recommend the street food in Mumbai : vada pav, pav bhaji and chicken roll from Bade Miya in Bandra. Also, to "feel" Mumbai, walk its streets or go in for a tonga ride.

In Delhi, don’t miss

Delhi Haat: This is the hub of Delhi. You get the best junk jewellery and clothes. And there’s an impressive food court.

Suggest: Chaat, chaat, chaat!
Location: Aurobindo Marg, Opposite INA Market.

Do some bargain shopping on Janpath and Sarojini Nagar.
The party scene in Delhi is also fun. Besides that, meet new designers in Delhi, as all Delhi designers are great!

In Bangalore don’t miss
Sunny’s: A laid-back place with great food.
Suggest: Beef roast and chicken
Location: 35/2, Kasturba Cross Road, Off Lavelle Road.

In Goa don’t ever come back without going to

Tito’s: If you haven’t been here, you’ve missed something in life!
Suggest: Their chocolate brownies are the best by far.
Location: Baga Beach.

There’s the flea market that calls for a visit. Of the beaches, Baga and Kalungur are the best. Drop in at Lemon Tree, Brito’s and Copa Gabana to get a ‘feel’ of Goa.
