Model-turned-actor Dino Morea is much more than a cute face with a great bod. A self-confessed foodie and a travel freak, here’s his pick of four places, besides first-love Mumbai, that are a window to India’s rich diversity.
Mumbai is my first love. She’s a livewire and a fighter. She has a great nightlife too. But everything shuts down quite early, and that’s the reason I want to be part of a nightclub-cum-lounge that will offer a little more to the party animals of Mumbai. (Dino’s all set to open a nightclub in Mumbai’s Worli area.)
I am a fitness freak, but I confess I am a big foodie. I love eating good food, of whatever kind. My favourite is the Italian joint Basilico in Bandra. It serves the most heavenly desserts. My other favourite haunt is Crępe Station (Carter Road, Bandra), a hangout that serves delicious crępes and snacks. It is the perfect place to chill out with friends and enjoy lip-smacking food that is totally worth the money spent. You might often find me there, since I run it, along with my brother Nicollo!
Goa
To me, Goa is all about peace and tranquility. It is a must visit for anyone who likes beaches and just wants to relax and unwind. If you are there, then do visit Restaurant Fiesta, near Tito’s Night Club in Baga Beach. It has beautiful decor and serves great Mediterranean and Italian cuisines.
Rajasthan (Udaipur andJaipur)
If you are fond of rustic India, this is a belt you should visit. Its folk dances, handicrafts, architecture, food, dialect, style of living—everything is vintage India.
Bangalore
If you are laid back as well as a party animal, then Bangalore is the place for you. It’s an exciting city with great weather, and a buzzing nightlife. Avery chilled out place where you can let your hair down and freak out!
Mudumalai
The Jungle Hut Resort, deep in the forest of Mudumalai is my favourite. I am yet to see a forest so serene and so beautiful.
