Yatra Online, the first online and centralised travel services company catering to the booming Indian travel market, has secured initial funding from big-ticket financial investors from India and abroad, indicating that the Indian travel industry has arrived.

Yatra announced on Wednesday that it has secured financial commitment from Reliance Capital, a Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group company, Norwest Venture Partners- Promod Haque's leading venture capital firm, and Television 18 Group founded by Raghav Bahl.

The investors have committed to support Yatra through its subsequent stages of growth to make Yatra the No. 1 travel services company in India. The founders of Yatra are non-resident Indians and experienced travel industry executives who have returned to India to launch the first online and centralised travel services company of its kind.

The founders, Dhruv Shringi and Manish Amin, bring a combination of 45 years of travel experience and 15 years of online travel experience to Yatra, the statement said.
