Yatra SMS FAQs


Q. What do I need to access send & receive SMSes from/to Yatra?

A. Your mobile phone should be capable of sending and receiving text messages (a text message is commonly known as SMS)

Q. Can I book a ticket on SMS itself?

A. Yes! You can now complete your booking on the SMS itself.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Yatra doesn’t charge the users anything to use its SMS service. Your mobile operator’s charges to send and receive SMS still apply.

Q. Which mobile networks support SMS to/from Yatra?

A. All operators except Reliance Telecom

Q. How do I use SMS to book a ticket?

A. For using SMS to book your ticket, first you need to register yourself on www.yatra.com .At the time of registration, we would ask you for your details. You can register max of 2 people who are most likely to travel, and the first 10 digits of your credit card. Once you have done that, pls click here for a demo of how to use the SMS.

Q. How many steps does it take to book a ticket on SMS?

A. It’s a simple “Fly-Select-Book” process- Fly to search fares and flights, select to choose your flight and book to book a ticket on the selected flight!

Q. Which number to send SMS to?

A. 52622

Q. How many passengers can I book using SMS?

A. On the SMS, you can complete a booking for 2 passengers on the mobile. If you want to book more than 2, our agents will call you back to complete the booking.

Q. How can I leave my credit card details with you at the time of registration?

A. We ask you to register only 10 of the 16 digits on your card. Without the complete card number, it cannot be misused. You would be asked to send the rest of the 6 digits on SMS to complete the booking. It is completely safe!

Q. How do I make a payment?

A. Currently you can make a payment using your credit card.

Q. Can I book international flights?

A. No, currently only for domestic flights.

Q. Is the payment safe?

A. Yes. We use a 128 bit secured gateway- it’s as safe as using Yatra.com

Q. Can I book a round trip ticket?

A. No. Currently SMS allows only one way tickets to be booked.

Q. Is it an all inclusive fare?

A. Needless to add, this is all inclusive! At Yatra what you see is what you get.

Q. Is there a difference in results & fares on Yatra.com and Yatra on my mobile?

A. No.

Q. Can I select any particular airline?

A. No. On the SMS, given the character limitation, we give you the cheapest fare for each airline. So you would get only one fare per airline.

Q. I am facing problems with accessing Yatra on my mobile! Help!

A. For your convenience, we have set up a Mobile Helpdesk to help you with any problems. You can call 0987 1800 800 or write to support@yatra.com.

Q. How is the confirmation number or PNR sent to me?

A. PNR would be sent to you on your mobile phone as an SMS. It would also be sent as an email to the email id you provide while filling up booking details.

Q. I cant take a print out of the SMS ! What to do?!

A. You can go to the airport and show the confirmation SMS at the airline counter at the entrance of the airport. They would take out a print and give it to you for checking in.

Q. Can I change or cancel my booking over the SMS?

A. Currently you can’t. Please call Yatra.com at 09871800800 to make changes or to cancel your booking.


Yatra WAP FAQs


Q. What is a WAP portal?

A. WAP portal is similar to a website except that it is designed to be accessed on a mobile phone. You can browse through a WAP site the same way as you browse a website.

Q. What do I need to access Yatra WAP portal on my mobile?

A. To access Yatra on the mobile, your mobile phone should be WAP enabled with an active GPRS connection. You can get your GRPS connection activated by calling up the customer care no of your mobile operator.

Q. How do I access wap.yatra.com?

A. Go to your mobile phone’s menu and look for browser. Open the browser and type wap.yatra.com.

Q. Is there a constraint on the handsets on which I can access Yatra WAP?

A. All handsets which are WAP enabled (pls check your handset specs) would allow you to access Yatra’s WAP portal

Q. Can I book a ticket on the WAP site itself?

A. Yes! You can now complete your booking on the WAP site, view demo to know how.

Q. How much does it cost to use WAP site?

A. Yatra doesn’t charge the users anything to use its WAP portal. Your mobile operator’s charges to use data over GPRS still apply.

Q. Which mobile network is Yatra WAP accessible on?

A. All networks offering GPRS services will allow access to Yatra WAP portal depending on the GPRS plan you use. Pls check your GPRS plans in case of any issue.

Q. How many passengers can I book on the WAP portal

A. On the WAP portal and Yatra application, you can book upto 6 passengers.

Q. Do I need to register for using the WAP portal?

Q. What is a “Yatra Application”?

A. Yatra application is a software application that can be downloaded & installed on your mobile phone. Once downloaded it would reside on your mobile phone and that be used as many times as you wish to search & book your travel.

Q. How do I install Yatra application on my mobile phone?

A. To install Yatra application, pls SMS YATRA to 52622 and click on link sent as a reply. You can also logon to wap.yatra.com on your mobile phone’s browser and click on “Download Yatra on the Go!” icon at the bottom of the homepage.

Q. What do I need to access Yatra application on my mobile?

A. To access Yatra application, you need a WAP enabled mobile phone with an active GPRS connection.

Q. Can I book a ticket using Yatra application itself?

A. Yes! You can now complete your booking using Yatra application.
