Introduction
Located around 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Bikaner, on the road to Jaipur, Katariasar Village is famous for being home to the Jasnathi sect - followers of Sant Jasnath ji, who dance on a bed of burning coals to the beat of drums. The village itself offers a window into the rural life of Rajasthan, replete with villagers whose livelihood consists of dairy farming and veiled women who balance as many as four pitchers of water on their heads. Hire a camel and go for a sojourn on the undulating golden dunes. Catch the breathtaking sunset amidst the desert landscape. The village is also renowned for its wildlife. Visitors often catch sight of chinkaras, desert foxes, rabbits, peacocks, parrots and partridges.
