Introduction
Joet’s is a popular round the year, seafood restaurant tucked away in the northern corner of Bogmalo Beach overlooking the azure Arabian Sea. Both locals and foreigners flock this restaurant to feast on its Mussel Masala Fry, Red Snapper and Kingfish preparations. Serving sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant was started in 1980 by Jose and Etelvina D’Cruz, with Etelvina doing most of the cooking, especially Goan fare such as prawn curry rice, Vindaloo, Cafreal and Prawn Balchao, and her sons Nello, Selvy and Joe taking care of the guests. They are aided by a courteous staff handpicked from the Bogmalo village.
Fish preparations here are cooked to order, what with freshly caught fish laid on ice slabs inviting diners to make a pick. Round up your meal with a popular cocktail - choose from Blue Lagoon, Fuzzy Navel and Joet’s Boggler to name a few. You can also turn up for the one-man band show on Tuesdays and Fridays. With great music playing in the background and endless sea views, Joet’s creates a relaxed beach ambience to tuck into Goan and Continental fare complemented by a selection of IMFL and imported liquors.
