Introduction

Spread over 20 acres, Bryant Park is a gorgeous world of nature’s many colors. This beautiful botanical garden was planned and built by an English Forest Officer, HD Bryant in 1908 CE and is also named after him. The park is known for its wide variety of flowers, shrubs, ferns and ornamental plants.

There are 325 species of trees, shrubs and cacti in the park. These include nearly 85 varieties of seasonal flowering plants that spread a magical rainbow of color when in full bloom. It also has a rose garden, greenhouse and a smaller greenhouse dedicated to ornamental plants. A musical fountain (operated only in evenings) and a special children's park are added reasons to visit this park with your families.

The lighting in the evening makes the slopes of the park seem like sheets of glittering jewels. You can also visit the plant nursery, to take a piece of the beautiful garden home. However, there is a constant rush of people and you will have to brave your way through.

The park also has some trees of historical significance. Foremost is a Eucalyptus tree that dates back to India’s First War of Independence in 1857. The Bodhi tree also attracts many faithful. These and several other older trees, which together provide some very interesting shaded walks.

An annual horticultural show is held every May and the park is choc-a-bloc full with locals and tourists alike coming to delight in the tremendous variety of colorful flowers and other flora on display. Green roses have been the star attraction of the show over the last few years.
