Introduction

A favorite haunt of kids during their summer holidays, Adhisyam – a theme water park, is also popular with sightseeing tourists to Madurai. The water park is about 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from Madurai city, on Madurai-Dindigul National Highway at Paravai. Set up in 2000, Adhisyam is now the largest water park in the area. It is an ideal place to unwind and cool your heels after days of sightseeing in the Madurai sun. You are ushered into Adhisyam by life-size Walt Disney characters merrily greeting you to join in the fun and make a splash. Enjoyed by families and kids alike, the water sports and rides here are made to suit every age.

Sprawled over 40 acres, the amusement park is studded with 40 games including 20 different water slides. The latest addition to the park is ‘Madurai Courtallam’ waterfalls – already gaining popularity with visitors. Outside of water slides, there are also dry slides such as tora tora, jumping frog, lazy river, baby train, rock & roll, caterpillar, toy joy, pirate ship, mini Columbus, super trooper, roller coaster, water merry-go round, cup and saucer, giant wheel, dashing car and dashing twister car among a variety of other interesting rides.
