Introduction
Though Mahabaleshwar is primarily a hill station it has its fair share of history, a lot of it dates back to the presence of British garrisons and officers. There are a lot of structures in the city that take us back to the days of the British Rule. One of the most prominent structures reminiscent of the British Raj is, Mount Malcolm the one-time residence of Governor Sir John Malcolm. Sir Malcolm is also known as the founder of this beautiful hill station. Built in 1829, Mount Malcolm boasts of a spectacular colonial architecture. Every nook and corner of this structural delight evokes the history of the opulent British Reign. The edifice is perched on the Prospect Point and has an impressive front entrance enclosed by railings.
