Nice property & experience, just bit ageing!!

My company booked the hotel for my recent 4 day trip to bangalore and so had decent 3 night stay at this 5 star hotel, no doubt it is 5 star. Though the property is overall nice, but 1 could easily make out it is now ageing by edges of the walls, paints, furniture, the slow lifts etc. But I wonder it would have been a truly luxurious during its old glory days. while checking in, I requested for a spacious room with king size bed, they kind of obliged only to my dismay when I finally landed in the hotel. The room & lobby had a staled smell like its been closed for months. After asking for room freshener, got it in hr or so. Somehow it became manageable, rest all was amenities were ok apart from one thing which I noticed late night while freshening up, the toilet seat did not have any water jet but only toilet paper to clean which was quiet unusual for me and was not very comfortable using. Next morning I requested them to change the room and rather give me a normal toilet with water cleaning which i consider more hygienic. After few reminders, they did changed me to relatively new room but deluxe category, though with little less amenities it was still more contemporary room, fresh interiors and ofcourse a normal indian toilet. Then it things were smoother, breakfast had a nice more than sufficient spread. In room dining food was too was above average. Wanted to try their Oriental as very famous Ginseng, but unfortunately could not find time. Overall it was a nice hotel with decent services(just had to dial few times for room change). Housekeeping guys was really polite, also offered more lemon teas to my liking. The guy at the welcome door was very warm welcoming, shaking hands with all the guests. An special advice, need to clean up the lobby dirty mats on 2nd floor atleast, due to spilt food etc.Read More
