  • Unmatched grandeur !

by DeepakshiPuri on July 23, 2016

I stayed in this hotel in April 2016 for a week's time. Good Part: 1. The best bed mattress ever - No matter how tired you are, all it takes is a minute to doze off once you hit the bed. The comfort is unmatched, all your back pain & body tiredness is taken care of. 2. Room Replenishment's Every day the butler would ensure he place some great cookies / fresh fruits in your room. Super handy to eat on your way to work. 3. Room Service Excellent 4. Bathroom Grand with the best possible toiletries to pamper yourself 5. Room Size Big & spacious, Just makes you feel at home. Unmatched grandeur 6. Swimming Pool Pool was well kept, but the most important thing to note is the environment created around it. Full of greenery, super soothing & relaxing There is nothing bad about the hotel, but some area of improvement Food: 1. For guests who are working odd hours, buffet breakfast included in the room is of no good use. I would return to the hotel from my work at 4 am. Buffet breakfast is available from 7 am -10:30 am. At 10 AM I would have to wake up from deep sleep so that I can go and stuff myself & not miss the breakfast. I could only manage to do this for 3 days & for the rest of the days I had to make a choice between my sleep/breakfast. I chose to sleep. When I explained my situation to the front office staff on the very first day. I was given an option of breakfast being served in the room, but they shocked me with the options. Fruits & Croissants is all they could serve. Leela, needs to work on this area. On the other hand, while I was staying in Hilton last year, the hotel was very accommodating. 2. Buffet Breakfast Menu: Can be increased 3. Food quality & taste (In the room, Citrus & Jamavar): Just about ok. The best & and the most inspiring thing: Message played on the in-house channel about the hotel owner Respected Mr. C. P. Krishnan Nair. Its a short documentary film on his life. He started this chain of hotels at the age of 60 yrs & for him, there was no age to retire. It was & still is a very motivating message for me & help me changed my outlook. There is no age to retire. Thanks to the hotel management for playing this documentary film.

  • A beautiful property to call home in a city bursting at the seems

by vegetraveler on July 20, 2016

Leela Palace certainly exceeding our expecations. The grounds, pool, lobby and common areas all emitted a luxurious ambiance and yet still maintained a charming and friendly atmosphere. A property like this in the US would have easily been triple the price. The Citrus breakfast buffet was truly sumptuous with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables (can be hard to find in India) with a huge variety of cuisine and excellent service with delicious coffee. We also had the pleasure of eating at all the restaurants on the property, including Le Cirque, and everything was prepared with the freshest ingredients, creative minds, and perfect execution. We never felt the need to leave the property for our meals. The staff were very friendly, eager to serve, maybe sometimes a bit over eager but that's typical in India. Having traveled all over India, on several different occasions, I can say, without a doubt, this was the best service we've ever received at any hotel in India. A few areas of improvement that would not deter me from staying here again or taking away a 5 star rating; 1. the room had a musty smell (I think room 61) that would knock you over when you first walked in. It would go away (or you got used to it) within minutes but really that should be addressed. Maybe one of those glade plug in wall fixtures to take the smell away. 2. at check out we had an extra day added to the bill that was not supposed to be there because we checked in at around 5am. I had already anticipated this though and already pre-paid for the day before. We were lucky we caught this (it wasn't chump change, it was $170USD) and the gentleman who checked us out barely acknowledged the mistake and didn't apologize. Something about the whole experience seemed off and didn't end things on a high note. As a side note, we had no idea what the weather would be like in July and were pleasantly surprised but the comfortable temperatures and barely any rain. It's easy to see why this is the fastest growing city in the world. Without traffic, the ride from the airport is 45mins - an early morning arrival will likely be this. Any other time it's about 1.5hrs though. We did use the hotels airport tranfer service which was about $80USD each way. Expensive, I thought, but they were right there at the arrival area with very clean, comfortable vehicles. Thank you for a great experience Leela Palace!

  • Luxurious Indian Hotel

    by Regina U on July 19, 2016

I have stayed at the Leela several times and it is always a positive experience. The breakfast buffet provides a lot of food choices (american, asian, indian) to satisfy everyone. The grounds are well kept. The hotel is extremely clean. The rooms are classy yet comfortable. However the best part is the staff. They are extremely accommodating in every way possible. From the bellman, to the drivers, to the waiters, to the butlers, they aim to please by giving you the best service possible. Our butler Rajat was amazing and he made our stay truly memorable. He is incredibly dedicated to customer service. I stayed a week and did not want to leave. This hotel has many luxuries yet instills a real sense of India into your stay. I also recommend the hotel's Zen restaurant where the restaurant manager Deepak Singh Jeena will go out of his way to provide you a quality dining experience.

  • Great moments of relaxation and food

Leela was great Plentiful food variety of good spread just to good .The buffet b/f lunch and dinner was good They lacked local Goan section The South Indian section was superb. • Great Hotel, Not a great location

by newyorkanya on July 15, 2016

We've stayed here a few times and it's a pretty great hotel. We love the pool and the Indian restaurant, the friendly staff and the comfortable rooms. The Leela is in a a good-sized compound with a pretty garden and shopping mall with a hair salon. The changes we've seen over the last few years are all for the worse, am sorry to say. They no longer have the outdoor treadmill next to the pool and the hairdresser is gone from the basement fitness center/spa area. Oxford books has shut in the shopping mall and so has the Italian coffee place with outdoor seating and a view of the garden. Even worse, Bangalore traffic has gone from horrible to nightmare. Some days we spent three hours in traffic. For this reason, please think carefully about whether the Leela location will work for you. Look at your schedule and meetings and stay near where ever you need to be. You may decide to stay at a less fancy hotel if it's closer to where you have to go. Allow about an hour to get to the airport or a lot more if going during the day. The weather is nice though so that's one good thing.
