Regenta Central - Ashok

close to the airport; location wise convenient for the business traveler. good, efficient & courteous staff. very responsive & quick to your requests. quality of food is good, although a touch expensive. good value for money. overall the experience was pleasant.

my recent stay at chandigarh hotel regenta central zirakpur was pleasant.i believe this is a business class four star hotel.the poolside of hotel was too pleasant. The lobby bar has a nice collection of liquor. The spa experience was superb.the lobby is average to good.the staff goes extra mike to please you altogether good hospitality in this category. .rooms are Fantabulous. .good amminities

So you are visiting Chandigarh for business or pleasure and wants to stay at a very nice hotel without a dent in your pocket, Hotel Regenta Central is just the perfect place. It's a little outside of the city, about 5-6kms and about 6kms from airport. The hotel is exquisite, I have not seen another hotel in this price range that offer a 5 star stay experience. I am writing this review from the room within :-). The rooms are clean, bath is very western style (took me back to my American days), has furniture for business use, TV with Tata Sky connection, rack, safe and a mini bar. Mini bar is expensive though, just like every other hotel. Rooms are spacious and the staffs are friendly. Oh, did I mention that there's Wifi connectivity. I have airtel mobile but I could only get 2G, so Wifi really helped me. Room service is excellent, food is a little pricey but very tasty. There are restaurants in the hotel if you wish to dine in there. Complimentary breakfast is very good - 3-4 types of fruits, Indian wheat bread (parantha), south indian dish (dosa/idli), curd, boiled eggs and today I saw some chicken sausages if that's what you like. Overall, I would give it a 5 star rating, I am having a pleasant stay for past two days.

It is slighlty out of the city, but very close the airport. Hence makes a good choice for a business traveller on a short visit. It is a nice and comfortable hotel, what you would expect from a Royal Orchid property. Good ambience at the entrance, friendly and courteous reception staff. Rooms are excellent and cosy. Only blip in my overall experience was with the staff during breakfast. Nobody bothered to even fill my glass with water, forget about asking for anything else. I would not hold it against the hotel though. Highly recommended of you are visiting Chandigarh/Zirakpur.

I was at the Regenta Ashok for 2 days in Dec 12 on a work related trip. I was to have stayed at an alternative place but the hotel agreed to give me a special rate so I leaned towards it (although normally I would be vary of any such 'special' offers--remember there is nothing called a free lunch). My train from Delhi was delayed by a whopping 5 hours due to fog- but surprisingly someone from the hotel was constantly in touch with me which left me quite impressed without even have reached the place. An hour before I reached, I received a call and they sent me a pick up Innova- placard and all. It left me quite floored. The hotel is conveneiently located and it took us about 15 mins to reach from the railway stn. For those who havent been to Chandigarh in sometime, Zirakpur is another place now..totally unrecognisable. Well, the hotel itself is very close to the Zirakpur flyover. It does make you feel at home, despite the opulence. Rooms are well appointed, bathrooms included - some peeling paint at the corners though -- the staff is courteous and helpful. The hotel was earlier called the Chandigarh Ashok. The rooms look redone, so does the new management - (the waiter told me). The (Indain) food is nice - didnt try anything else. They had a Kashmiri food festival going on - but I didnt have the stamina to go down do the restuarant. Room service menu was average. Bar menu was a little pricey as expected - but there is an IMFL shop just across the road. !!! Breakfast buffet was limted in variety - but passable in taste. Overall. it a nice place to stay. Oh yes, they did drop me back to the railway station. (complimentary)
