Hyatt Regency Chennai

Recently by may 12 th we had our college reunion at Hyatt.so lovely venue to reunite with all our friends.the meeting hall was really sufficient to handle 150 guest.hotel authorities were so helpful in making web casting arrangements.with that facility we were able to communicate with our fellow friends from all over the world which made that event so meaningful&much exciting.once again thanks to the management!!!coming to the lunch buffet it was simply awesome with wide range of choices for both veg&nonveg.being a strict vegetarian I loved Kashmiri Pulav,bendi dry roast,clear tomato rasam&mix veg avial type curry.in the dessert section also I enjoyed mango gulfi icecream&authentic carrot halwa.

We are just leaving the Hyatt Regency (with regret). Stayed on a business visit but accompanied by my wife. Lobby/Restaurant: Best pizza outside of Italy! (they've got an Italian chef - 365AS restaurant). The lobby area is simply majestic! The beehive decorations are really nice. Pool: really nice outdoor pool of good length to get a good swim. Gym: one of the best I've been to across the world - they even gave me sports shoes as I hadn't brought mine (they were clean of course). High-speed Internet: very affordable (713 rupees = 9 pounds for 24 hours). Room: was really good - the doors to the shower/bathroom are a bit odd (beehive style) but not a real issue. Service: the best i've experienced - the staff go to great lengths to please you - even went down to the street to negotiate a rickshaw for my wife to go shopping. Also, they were easy-going on late checkout and letting me use my internet allowance beyond my checkout time. Also refused tips!... Always serving with a smile.

Nice ambience and very courtesy staff.The food tastes very good and must place to visit.The restaurant caters to different style to whole family according to your taste buds.The location and open kitchen gives a good feeling.

This is my second time at this hotel and I'm sold on it - good location (it will be even better if they ever finish the Chennai metro) with spacious rooms and friendly staff. The quirky art and unusual room layout make a welcome change from stereotype hotels with L shaped rooms and the restaurants are excellent. First time here, someone who I think was a quite junior member of staff saw me looking round and took delight in telling me where everything was - when I said it was most impressive he replied "Sir, it is a palace." Not sure I'd go that far but it's something of an experience and definitely worth a visit.

The art work in the public spaces is stunning - clearly, a lot of thought has gone in to it. The staff in the lobby bar (especially Manjay) are fantastic. The Szechuan food in Stix was wonderful. Two negatives - first, if I am paying over USD200 per night for a room in India, I think it is ridiculous if breakfast is not included; secondly, the other downside was the poor service when it came to leaving - suddenly we were told there were no taxis in Chennai and the only option was a (ridiculously expensive) hotel car to take us on a 1km journey. We even had to wait 30 mins for that to arrive. Such a pity to leave with a bitter taste in our mouth.
