"Old hotel, with great service and great food."

The moment I got into my room upon check-in, what came to my mind was that this hotel would be a 3-star review for me in TripAdvisor. Due to the age of the hotel, the room furnishing shows quite some wear and tear, some of the bathroom appliances are rusty, and the safe deposit box didn't work. However, while the hotel lacks in physical aspect, it more than make it up in the service aspect. Consistent good service is found everywhere in the hotel (concierge, housekeeping, restaurant staff). My safe deposit box issue was fixed within the day it was reported. They offer around 5-6 different kinds of pillow to choose from. And the multi-connector mobile phone charger in the room is a small thing that is useful. And I have not mentioned the good food. I can speak for the cafe where breakfast is served, and the Indian restaurant (Dakshin) - both serve excellent food! I would like to suggest two things related to safety to the hotel management though: 1) Provide flashlight in the room. This came to mind after two occasions of very short black-out (around 1-second each) on two different day. 2) There is a small indicator light outside each room that (in my observation) turns on when somebody is inside the room and turns off when no one is inside (based on whether room key is inserted into the power slot). I don't think it's a good idea to show outsiders whether or not the occupant is inside the room. Having said everything, all in all, I'll rate this hotel 4-star.
