"Tucked away in Obscurity"

About 3kms from Kushal nagar KSRTC bus stand, Coorg hallimane is tucked away in a remote corner in Kudlur village, adjacent to "veerbhoomi Holiday resort". Dont let that deter u, as thats one of the plus to this place. The road to the resort from the main road is an unpaved mud road and is quite bumpy. The decor of the resort is quite rustic and country like. the rooms are well laid, with bamboo panelling and cots. If u r traveling as a bunch of friends or a family with kids, this place should quite be fun. There is a campfire at nights at dinner time, along with music(quite loud to enjoy actually..), and a basic slide ride to the swimming pool which the kids should love. The attractions around the place are obviously the Dubare elephant camp and the Golden temple at Bylakuppe. Usually people visit just the namdroling Monastey. But if u r staying for 2-3 days in Kushalnagar, take time off and explore the several other monasteries too in the vicinity in Bylakuppe. Food is decent, and ofcourse the choices for breakfast and dinner is quite limited and ofcourse depending on the occupancy rate of the resort at that time. if u r self driving, a word of caution. google maps has a wrong location for this resort on their maps. rather look for veerabhoomi tourist resort and follow that path as hallimane is rite next door to it. and if u are arriving by bus, just ask for kudlur village and mention the resort by name to the tuk-tuk driver. from the busstand its just 50INR to the resort. and visiting the golden temple is just 100INR from the resort.Read More
