Aamod Resort

We went to stay at Aamod in May, 2013. We were three families with 2 infants. Staff at the booking office was helpful from the beginning. This resort is on the main Shimla road, there was no problem in locating the same. Once reached, we were escorted to the reception by the staff. Check-in was smooth and then came the challenging time. This resort is built on so called " hill". one has to walk/ climb/ travel a lot to reach different places and cottages. My friend rightly said, this is a wonderful resort but not for faint hearted and fat bellied people. It is a must go place provided you choose the right cottages. Cottages on the top of the hill have the best view but we found monkeys sitting right in front of our cottage on two successive days . If you have kids, elder people accompanying you, prefer taking cottages which are close to reception area. yes, room number 101 and 102 are located at the right place with best view. Food was great, service was good but a bit time consuming, we understand since resort was big and and on hill. Restaurant staff was helpful and co-operative, especially Mr. Rana. He took no time in getting the food served in our rooms, since we were tired. Rooms were big, clean and with all basic amenities. There was a slight difference in the weather of Shimla and Shoghi, Shimla was a bit cold, since it is on height, Shoghi's weather was pleasant. Overall, a nice place to visit if you are ready for some adventure, exercise and experience something different. Cheers!!
