Sagrika Resort

A very descent hotel. We booked the resort for 3n/4d 17th Apr 13 - 20th Apr 13 in super delux category. The location is too good but then thats it... Pros: 1. Location 2. View from top floor (super delux rooms) 3. Room attendent (i think Rajesh or Rakesh was his name) 4. Manager was courteous 5. Nicely maintained hotel lawn Cons: 1. Top floor means you have to climb equivalent to 4th floor and that too on steep stairs for top 2 floors... 2. Food.... food was let down... overpriced and similar taste... much better is restaurant is Sher e Punjab (original) on the road near shubhash chowk... we had our lunch there only 3. Geyser in room 36, it badly needs repairing. After keeping it on for approx half hour it trips and we have to call the room service guy to fix it. During our stay it tripped for almost 8-10 times. 4. No electrical sockets except 2, one for TV and other one was near bathroom.. so you have to keep waiting to charge your phone or camera batteries.... I wonder what will happen in winters when someone will be needing the heater... 5. They don't explicitly tell you about all amenities, you have to specifically ask for it.

We booked Sagarika resort , dalhousie for 3 nights from 13th Apr 13- 15th Apr 13 in the super deluxe room. The position of the hotel is very good but that's all. The hotel is severely understaffed. We noticed only 3 person catering all the guests and Kakkaji the only staff smiling always serving to all of them. The rooms were clean and nice but basic amenities like towels,soaps tea bags, sugar, cups was not there and you have to ask for them each time with an average waiting time of 20-30 mins. Everything that is in the package like welcome drinks, fruit platter, bon-fire has to asked as they did not delivered on their own. The food is the worst part of the hotel, everything is spicy with same taste and anything you order the reply is ' we will deliver after 45 mins'. This is not a 2 star property in any stretch of the imagination but a decent budget (although the cost does not suffice so) in the hills. The assets of the hotel is its location and the only staff Kakkaji, who always serves you with a smiling face.

I visited the Sagarika Resort in Dec of last year for my second honeymoon. The stay was quite comfortable and the staff's pretty friendly and helpful. Couple of suggestions though Have better and more powerful room heaters :). Definetly recommended.

very helpful staff. nice lawns. however, top floors have a very steep flight of steps. also, the heater was not very effectrivwe in the cold. a decent place. the food had a lot of salt in it though. also, there are hardly any provisions for drivers to sleep.

Stay :We stayed in this resort in the last week of feb.We reached there around 10 in the morning, our room was pre-booked (through hotel's website), the check-in time was 1 pm, but as rooms were available so they alloted the room right away. also we had our bus booking in the evening so they offered us extended stay till 5 with additional payment of Rs 600,as check out time is 11:00am. Had booked a super deluxe room with brekfast & dinner package. Truly loved this 2n 3d stay.The rooms although do not offer the view of snow clad mountains bur does offer the view of valley.The room service was quite efficient and quick. There was also kettle in the room.The room & bathroom was clean.the towels, bed sheet every thing was also clean. We also had bonfire on 2nd night. Sightseeing :They also arranged a cab (Rs 600/-)for us to snow point & panchpulla. the driver was very good he took us to the last accessible point to lakkadmandi. we were lucky to find snow there itself. we could see people walking all the strech as many driver drop passengers mid way saying car cannot go upwards. we had plans to visit chamera lake & bhadrakali temple temple next day but rains spoilt our plans.:( khajihar was closed so we couldnot visit that either. Food: the breakfast spread was good. not too many options but on the first day it had poha, paratha,dahi, toast. tea & on day 2 puri sabji, noodles, sandwitch,boiled eggs. Dinner also had salad, soup, both veg & non veg options, rice roti,sweet dish etc. . their kadai chicken was great. The best thing about dinner was whenever they bring hot rotis, the boys reach out to every table to offer them, also they took very less time to replenish the food.the taste of veg food was not great but not bad either.however I feel that they should have some more options in non veg menu. In all I would recommend this hotel not too many frills but good to stay at. Friendly staff & Manager. every time staff greeted us they asked if we had our dinner, had food etc. these small gestures I really like.
