O Resort & Spa (A Beach Property)

We payed 950 Rs/ night for a fan double at the Lui Beach Resort. There was a 25% discount for off season in the price. It's one of the cheapest places around and we thought it was excellent value. The mattress on the bed was definitely the most comfortable we had anywhere in India! The swimming pool is great and we spent loads of time there. Our room was really nice although it was really hot there at the time so the fan room was just bearable. We had two balconies and another window so we could get the breeze through to cool it down a bit. There are no bug nets on the windows though so you can't leave a window open during the night as your room would get full of mosquitoes. The free breakfast is simple with only coffee/ tea, fruit juice, toast with butter and jam. It was enough for us anyway so we were happy with it. Internet connection works well only at the pool and restaurant area which is a bit annoying but most of the time the connection works all right.

My partner and i stayed for 2 weeks in Lui Beach and thought that the staff was lovely and very helpfull.The room wasn't the poshest or most modern but it is a 2 star hotel in a poor country, we wasn't expecting the Ritz, i have payed more for 3 and 4 and have not been much more impressed.The rooms are cleaned daily and they even tidied up my pile of shoes neatly that made me chuckle. The supprises left on the bed most days was a lovely touch, we always looked forward to seeing what they had created next. I loved the fact that we wasn't in the middle of the noisey nightlife but was only ever a short walk or cheap taxi ride to it if you wanted.The fact that the hotel only had about 20 rooms made it much friendlier and we was lucky enough to meet lots of nice people. The only real down side was the breakfast, it was a let down, tea toast and jam, but there was so many lovely places close by to eat it really wasn't a problem and everywhere is very cheap.

My stay at this place was a total delight! First of all I reached this place at 4 in the morning and they had our room ready, they did not even charge us an extra night for that, which usually all other hotels were doing. Second, the service at this hotel was excellent. The rooms were clean and the staff did interesting towel art on the beds, which we loved. Also, the feel of the hotel is very relaxed, foreigners were just dozing around or reading a book around their little pool. The only thing that bothered me a little was that the complimentary breakfast included just bread, butter and coffee....eggs were served at an extra charge :( But then it was still worth it at the price we were paying :)

My wife and myself stayed here for two weeks start of april.Nice enough little hotel but a bit far away from the centre of candolim for us.(it may be better during high season when all the bars and restaurants are busier)Rooms cleaned every day and nice little swimming pool if you dont like the beach, but not a lot of sun loungers if everyone wants to stay at the pool.All the staff at the hotel were polite and helpful.I must mention joshuas at the start of the little road into the hotel,The food is delicious and the prices great.Maria and her husband and son joshua were very welcoming when we dropped in for lunch most days.(1 veg thali 1chicken thali and 1large bottle of water =150 rupees)they do not have a licence to sell alchohol.Overall we enjoyed our stay but would have been better if nearer candolim

My OH and myself stopped at Lui Beach between 15th to 30th March, after going to Goa last year for the first time and stopping in a hotel that wasn?t that great we was dreading what to expect this year but are worries were put at ease straight away as we arrived. Peter the manager gave us a warm and friendly welcome which was nice then we was shown to our room which was 103. The room was a little small and without air conditioning which we was wanting. The room it?s self was clean and a good size bed. The following day we asked if we could move to a room with air conditioning but was told that due to being fully booked they could not move us for a week, however after four days a room became available and was moved to room 106. This was a great room with loads of storage space a big bathroom and balcony. The bed was huge and plenty of space to move around in. Our room was cleaned By Diggu (sorry if spelt wrong) who was fantastic and very hard working, he never stopped. Are room was cleaned every day to a good standard and he could not do enough for you, in fact all the staff were great and very helpful even Maria on reception who was very polite and welcoming. The hotel is small with I think around 20 rooms which made the atmosphere a homely one and you got to know a lot of the other guests. The hotel is situated at the quite end of Candolim which some people may think it was out of the way but we like to be able to relax while at the hotel, then go to where everything is happening (which is not far away) which made this hotel in a perfect location. The pool area is small although plenty of space considering this size of the hotel and was always kept clean and tidy. Peter?s BBQ and karaoke nights were great fun and Peter was extremely funny on the Karaoke. The Karaoke finishes at 23:00hrs so not too late for other guests to put up with the bad singing. The food was not the best you could find in Goa nor the cheapest but well worth the money, it?s a must if you stop hear. The hotel is around a 5 min walk to the beach (if that) and brings you out to a quite part of the beach with only a few shacks which were ok but we also walked up the beach at times to other shacks. At the end of the road near the hotel is Joshua?s, a nice little place to get breakfast and cheap! As we generally missed the one at the hotel as they stop serving at ten and was a basic breakfast. They were also a taxi rank across the road and they too were very helpful and not too pushy although as all taxi stand they do shout TAXI as you pass. Pros: Clean, good rooms, Helpful and friendly staff, quite, good atmosphere, the feeling of being safe. Cons: have to pay for a fridge although there is a TV in each room (idea for Peter, should be able to choose whether a fridge or TV as standard then pay for the other if it?s wanted)
