Royal Goan Beach Resort - Haathi Mahal

The is very Beautiful and Excellently maintained Resort in South Goa. The Cavelossim beach is a 10 minute walking distance from the resort. The rooms are well appointed taking care of every minute requirement of the guest. It was like a Home away from Home experience to us. The ambience and surroundings was par excellence. The hotel staff were knowlegeable , helpful and cheerful at all times and were willing to go that extra mile to keep the guests in their comfort zone.The rooms were well equipped and each apartment had a good working kitchen. The 5 odd swimming pools were also well maintained. The Bazaar (grocery store) is well stuffed with food stuff, beverages, etc and is reasonably priced. It was a very refreshing experience for us for a week and we feel rejuvenated.

We took a RCI EXCHANGE of 1 week in this resort and took a two-bed room apartment with kitchen. We have stayed in this resort two times before .But this time we found a drastic improvement in this resort .The rooms are well maintained with a good working kitchen. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The resort lacks daily activities, which are run in other RCI resorts, but this resort is idle for relaxing. PROBLEM Taxi Union is a big problem in all parts of GOA. They ask exorbitant rates for moving around and you are helpless as they do not allow taxi from other union or non-union to enter their teritory.However this time my friend helped me arranged a small Nano on rent and this problem of negotiating with this TAXI people was solved. However, I think this union problem is present everywhere in GOA and most of these taxi drivers are arrogant. Internet was not working properly in my room and was costly for small duration. It is better to take option of unlimited internet option offer by the resort LESS options for vegetarians in the menu ADVANTAGE GOOD resort interiors and reception. This property is now well maintained. There is a grocery store in hotel where you get daily needs like bread, noddles, mineral water etc.If you want to experiment with cooking this grocery offers lot of options Good and cooperative staff. This is a good resort in a quiet town in South Goa. This is however not on the beach. One has to walk five to ten minutes to reach the beach. The beach is good for taking a dip. It is not crowded. Life guards are posted there. The resort itself is good for both couple and family vacations. It has activities for all age groups and serves good food.

This hotel is gorgeous. Wonderful location, near to lots of little shops and restaurants - and ten minutes from the beach. We spent two weeks there and could not fault the housekeeping and restaurant/bar staff. Always friendly, kind and helpful. We had a room that faced the back and was very quiet at night; the only noise was from the aged fridge rattling away. Despite a defrost, it was still noisy, but it didnt detract from us having a great time. Would be great if the pool loungers were a bit more conducive to reading and also if the Spa staff would introduce themselves to the clients. Would love to be able to stay there again. We really appreciated all the staff.

Initially, on our arrival at Haathi Mahal, I thought it was a little dated. However, within a short time we had settled in and were very happy with our accommodation (Hotel room), the grounds and the dining areas. The staff are outstanding in their attentiveness and almost all have a relaxed, pleasant style. The food, most of the time, was more than adequate. On our 4th day of 7 we discovered there was a lot more to be seen around the area of Haathi Mahal, and ate many pleasant meals at restaurants within the local area. Many British and European couples seem to go to Haathi Mahal, and we enjoyed their company. We would stay there again.
