Taj Deccan (A Taj Hotel)

Situated in a quiet area of Hyderabad city. The check in and check out experience was very smooth. The hotel lobby has a very good ambiance. The security features include restricted access to floors even to the residents unless specially asked for. The junior suite in which I was staying was very spacious, with excellent views from the window. The floor is absolutely quiet. The in room bar is adequately stocked. I needed help to pack a carton which was available fairly quickly. In room dining and morning breakfast is excellent. I specially liked the keema pao on the breakfast menu. Overall a good and relaxing hotel to stay.

We used this hotel for hosting a large residential conference which had 106 people and which lasted for 11 days. the good points: living rooms are good, spacious, very good housekeeping service and good amenities both in the room and in the toilet. Though their TVs are not LCD variety, they work. conference rooms are large, specious and can hold 20 to 3000 people and you have a wide variety to choose from. the attitude, behaviour and service of the staff are impeccable and befits the Taj name. great location Not so good ones: 1. Food- both menu and quality could have been much better - we had to continuously remind them to not over spice the food. There is perhaps a regional influence on the food but the faster it is shed, the better, especially for a group (such as ours) which had members ranging from age 8 to 80. We needed home quality and simple food since we were staying there for a relatively longer duration but this need was left wanting. We were also not very happy with the initial response to us in this respect from the hotel, though the quality and service both improved with time. 2. Banquet management - while the people in charge of the banquets were excellent and they did try their best and had to make a lot of adjustments and really stretch themselves to their individual limits, we found that the hotel top management and sales people did not either talk to each other or did not plan well in advance despite our detail debrief to them much in advance to the kind of programs we were going to run, or the kind of venue, food and room requirements that we would need from them. This caused a lot of stress at our end as well as for the hotel staff who had to manage this gap. However, overall, I think this hotel is a great place for hosting conference or even to stay for a holiday in Hyderabad as it is situated in a great location.

It is one of those five star hotels where you also find yourselves at home and extremely comfortable. The staff are courteous and the food is great. I specially like the spread for breakfast.Whether your choice is continental, Indian or American, you have a sumptuous meal. A lovely place to relax after a long day at work! It is also located in the heart of the city so if you want to go sightseeing or shopping in the evening, there are still plenty of choices.

A wonderful 5 star property located at the best part of Hyderabad city. Staff are very supportive and look after the guests well, being true to Taj's tradition. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The old rooms have been well concealed to look new. They provide a huge assortment of dishes for the break fast. I liked the ambience of the restaurant - well lit and huge. No need to mention about the taste - the best. Swimming pool, sauna - great place to relax after a stressful day. One of the best hotels for the business and holidaying crowd. Get ready to be pampered by Taj's hospitality!

A nice 5 star property very central to Hyderabad. First was called Holiday Inn, thereafter Taj Residency & now Deccan. A spiff lower than its cousin next door Taj Krishna, this hotel literally transports you to the 80's style 5 star hotels. The arches & the layout is very distinctive, and as soon as one steps in... you get to know... This is definitely not a 'new' hotel. Leaving the 'hard' aspects aside... the soft side... the service is impeccable in typical Taj Style, starting with the buffet breakfast. All the more, even though the feeling of an 'old' hotel lingers on... the property is extremely clean and the lawns well maintained.
