The Oberoi Rajvilas

Stayed here last week, found hotel fine, room long way from reception but golf buggy provided Found hotel a bit soulless and very much like other hotels pleasant clean but not exciting. More for lounging around pool holiday. Ate in the Surya Mahal Restaurant great food but again no amphosphere

This is a luxury property. the rooms are large, and the beds superbly comfortable. It has huge grounds, and is very quiet, with various buildings, each with 4 hotel rooms, so you feel like it is a private villa. The restaurant is superb for breakfast and dinner! And that's good, because there is nothing else around. The pool is very nice. There is a library, set up like a 19th century British tycoon's retreat. Afternoon tea is served here, as are evening cocktails.

We turned in to the impressive gates after a chaotic journey and from the first salute at the gate serenity started. A peaceful haven spread before us. The reception was so welcoming and the traditional attire of the staff made it all so special. After a very efficient friendly check in we were taken by golf buggy to our tented room it was beautiful very private but I did worry about having to walk so far in the heat later, no problem just ring concierge and within minutes a buggy is at the door. We did walk to the beautiful pool and got lost ( should have used the map provided ) We found it and immediately were led to a lounger of our choice ,towel laid and a tray of cold face towels, chilled water, suncream and a chilling spray set out. Bliss.I sat there while beautiful peacocks walked around us , lots of video and photos, I admit at 4 am I disliked them a little bit but soon went back to sleep listening to them and other birds. what could be more perfect. Everyone is so polite but always we felt the kindness and friendly service. I was struggling with heat and after dinner my feet were so swollen I could hardly walk ,we decided to sit in Library bar, like a personal genii a waiter appeared he helped me with cushions to raise my feet on the sofa and brought a little table across so I could reach my tea easily. One of the buggy drivers took us to see a lapwing on a nest because we mentioned to her our interest in watching birds . at breakfast last day I said to the waiter I have to admit Indian food too spicy for me which makes stopping at local Restaurants difficult , the waiter few mins later brought a box with a few pastries water and banana for the journey to Oberoi Agra . Small details but made us feel so special, .It is obvious management have a happy team free to spend extra time making guests feel welcome. The restaurant beautiful setting, Ice cream especially the sundaes are mouthwatering . Could not fault a thing at this lovely hotel . Thank you.

It would be tough to find faults here and the hotel is truly magnificent. The rooms are well kept clean and huge. The staff is typical well spoken and courteous. The food is superb. The location is good but you will need to have a prebooked taxi else be prepared to shell out extra bills for it if you decide to hire one on arrival.

Well maintained gardens, super accommodation and good amenities. Excellent service. Disadvantages: 1. Located 8km from Jaipur and no taxis/tut-tuts around. Hotel transportation into town is expensive. A complimentary shuttle service would enhance the level of amenities. 2. Have to pay for wifi. A hotel of this calibre should be able to offer its guests complimentary wifi.
