  • MESMERIZING.. in the lap of the Himalayas!

    We reached the property late in the evening and it was already dark that we could not see the surroundings properly. All through the night the sound of the waters flowing down through some stream nearby was really soothing and a perfect lullaby after a looong journey from Delhi. Got up in the morning, really cold.. but the view of the snow clad mountains on te back drop of the Highland Park was just UNBELEIVABLE and MESMERIZING. Goo Location and Good Property.

    The hotel is situated right at the Beas and one can also access the river directly from the hotel. Its a very good property for the people who love to stay away from the main city since its 4kms away. Food is very good though hotel requires renovation.

  • Bad approach to hotel and terrible rooms

    When I first saw a picture of this hotel I thought it had the perfect location on the banks of the River Beas but after my visit there I know that pictures on the internet can be very deceptive and does not really give a true picture. First of all if I knew how difficult it is to get to the hotel which is located at the other end of Manali, and we would have to drive through a lot of traffic and the crowded town I would have chosen a hotel like Citrus Manali which is located before you hit the traffic congestion of this place. To reach this hotel your car has to cross a hanging bridge which is so narrow that it only allows cars coming or going in one direction so sometimes we had to wait a long time till the flow of traffic stopped from the other direction. This was very annoying and the traffic used to get backed up quite often as there are more cars there than there are roads. When we checked into the hotel the first thing that struck me was the total disrepair of the place. It was grossly neglected and needed maintenance all over. It looked very shabby considering how much they were charging. Even the reception area was very sorry looking. When we saw our suites I was astonished at how small the bedrooms were and how dirty everything was including the couches in the living area which were so filthy that I did not feel like sitting on them. As another guest has mentioned before, there were telltale signs of the previous guests and it was gross. We had the bed sheets, quilts etc all changed because there were blood stains, marks and hair on all the sheets and quilt covers. I have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world but never seen anything like this. Half the outlets were broken and the room heaters they provided hardly gave any heat unless you literally sat in front of them. The bathroom was kind of dark and not well lit. When I checked the toilet I found that the housekeeping staff had placed the white tape over the toilet but when I ripped this and lifted the lid I found dried urine all over the seat. I called housekeeping and asked them to come and clean the toilet seats. Two local women showed up and started to clean the toilet seat with the toilet bowl cleaner. I was dumbfounded at their lack of housekeeping skills. I asked them to get some disinfectant so they promptly returned with some Dettol and newspaper and started scrubbing the seat with newspaper. This is the standard of housekeeping at this hotel. They have untrained staff who really don't care about their jobs. Since we went in March it was pretty cold there and most of the time we felt extremely cold due to the lack of proper heating in the rooms or the dining area. The bathroom in the dining area was so gross that you would not feel like going in there a second time. The staff never bothered to wash and change the table cloths after the previous season ended so all the tables were covered with filthy table cloths with food stains on them. We literally had to ask them to clean everything we needed. The whole hotel is grossly neglected and fallen into disrepair. The only saving grace was the food which was pretty good since we were the only guests due to this being an off peak time so they basically cooked everything a la carte for us. The manager also was very helpful as were the other staff and did whatever we asked them. The view was pretty good but the river was not really easily accessible from the hotel. It was a steep climb down and the area was littered with trash. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

  • Highland Park, A Fantastic Stey

    Went for Honeymoon period. It was a fantastic Stay there. The Hotel is perfectly between mountain valley. A perfect view of mountain and river just from your Suits. Staff is very cooperative and food is good.Specially if you want to have food near to river-shore you can ask Staff and they will provide you where ever you want. Morning Tea with your wife at River Shore is a awesome experience. Stay is bit costly, but full paisa vasool.

  • Terrible Service

    The facilities and service of the so called resort is extremely poor. The location is good but not much inside. The washroom basin tap was leaking and in the other room of our over priced cottage, the tap in the bathing area was not working. The washroom tiles were old and rusty. The towels given were old and stained. The worst feature of the resort was its service - first they would not pick up the phone and when they would finally pick, they'd come after a long long time. At times we even had to give multiple reminders. It was really frustrating. There are not many facilities within the 'so called' resort. The food was also not so good. Our children were down with indigestion and vomiting when they ordered a snack for themselves. They must've used lie quality oil or stale ingredients. The most shocking part was the water that were serving in the name of drinking water - it was not filtered leave alone an Aquaguard - so we had to call for mineral water which was highly priced again. All in all, this resort is not at all as good as it looks! Disappointed!!!!

  • Choose any room that has a view of the Beas on one side and the mountain range on the other. The early morning view of the sun rising over the snow clad Himalayan mountains is majestic and breath taking!
