Over hyped, over priced and not really worth a visit.

We stayed at the Marine room for a night. The decor of the room was a tad too cold and sterile. Definitely a downer for a couple looking for romance! The staff at the front desk were polite and efficient. The water bottles kept in the room were tiny. We had to keep buying so many bottles of water - expensive - and not fun! The TV wasn't working in the room. I would think the TV would work by default, without us having to complain about it. When you're there for a day, you don't expect to have to waste an hour of it in just trying to make the TV work. Very disappointed. However, the food was the real disappointment. The lunch and dinner buffets were priced at Rs. 1000 including taxes. There were barely 10 dishes in the entire buffet menu. The food was mostly Indian, with very little variety. Hardly any desserts, just one soup and three salads. The food wasn't very tasty either. The ambience of the restaurant is quirky but if you're a foodie like me, prepare to be hugely disapponted. The food is extremely overpriced and not worth it at all! The breakfast spread was a little better, but not very tasty. On the whole, the food was a huge huge let down for us. The housekeeping staff has been poorly trained. On a couple of occassions, the staff tried to enter the room without our consent. This was a huge shock and not expected at all! This needs to be corrected asap. I strongly recommend keeping your doors locked tight at all times you're in your room! I think the hotel is way too over-hyped and over-priced. It isn't worth the money, either in terms of the rooms or the service or the food. I'm hugely disappointed and won't stay here again. The ambience is a little too cold and sterile for my tastes. It's also a little out of the way from the main road and no restaurants close by so we couldn't really get out of the hotel for dinner. The only saving grace was the efficient and friendly front office staff.Read More
