The place where the hotel is located is great. The rooms are well designed with a royal feel. The staff is well organized and well mannered. As we entered hotel everything appealed to us.The food services provided by the hotel were fabulous and very hygienic. Before reaching Mussoorie, we were excited to be in the hills enjoying the cool and fresh breeze but I think it was our stay at Ilbert Manor that made our trip completely satisfying. We could actually enjoy the serene atmosphere. This hotel is worth ranking high and worth spending good amount. I and my family had a refreshing trip and thanks to the hotel staff and its arrangements.

A holiday can be perfect and complete only with a great and relaxing accommodation and this is what I felt at " Ilbert manor " which offers some of the best-value accommodation in Mussoorie. Settled down in the lap of nature it seems a perfect gateway for a great holiday. I just loved the view and the comfort provided . Not only the accommodation provided but the staff was also very companionable and helpful. From the split second I arrived with my friends at the hotel, I felt welcomed and valued. The room was marvelous, beautifully arranged, I felt like I had come to rest in the lap of great pleasure. I really had a very pleasant stay and would prefer to visit " Ilbert manor " on my every trip to Mussoorie.

As we entered the hotel we found property fantastic and very pleasant to eyes with beautiful flower decoration. llbert Manor is an excellent place to stay, their employees welcome you with heart and give full support and assistance. According to me it is one of the best hotel I have been to in terms of facilities, cleanliness and the excellent service. Don?t hesitate to pay a little more because this hotel is worth it. Excellent food and all-through very professional yet warm touch made my stay comfortable and memorable. I am extremely happy with the service of this hotel. The overall rating is more a 3.5 but that option not being there, i am going with a 3. Ilbert Manor, true to its claim, is a fine heritage hotel. The building has been restored well and the overall feel is of the raj era. The news cuttings from pre 1947, the furniture etc. all add to the ambience. I found some small touches very noteworthy - carpets on the wooden stairs so that people waking up and down don't disturb the other guests. Or the rubber casings on the door latches and the presence of door stoppers, which again, do not make a noise while shutting or locking. These show attention to detail and left me impressed. The rooms are large and bathrooms as large as the rooms. The bathrooms have all modern amenities including a dental kit and a shaving kit, a loofah etc. Not expected and hence a surprise. The service deserves a 5/5. The staff is extremely polite, never say no to any request and ever ready to help. They lack just a wee bit of training and usually take two trips for completing one request. but they are sweet and will be the one reason that could take me back to the hotel. The food is pretty good too although the breakfast menu could use some imagination in terms of variety. Now about the location - in my opinion, the most important aspect of a hotel. The property is located very close to the Mall Road and if you are looking for a good place accessible from the Mall road but not too close to the hustle and bustle, then the location is perfect. The approach is through a very narrow lane that slopes down steeply and will require you to park your car in a common parking area. The hotel however provides a free shuttle to the Mall Road and is very convenient alternative. The second aspect of location - view. Some of the rooms have nice mountain views and a few have no view at all. Ask for rooms 204/205 for the best views. But these views come with the view of a property immediately in front, which is not a very pleasing sight - a run down property with an open water tank. This however is easily ignorable. The third aspect is the property layout. And this is where the big miss is. The property has just about 12 -15 feet of open space along 2 sides of its rectangular layout. I wish it would have had more open space, with a garden or a lawn, which would complete the heritage look. One side does face the Himalayan mountains and is a nice place to have a cup of tea. But sipping tea on a concrete floor is different from having it on a green lawn. Also, open space is compromised for being close to the Mall Road. All in all, we had a very good stay. But it was a couple of steps away from a memorable stay due to the location and layout. Will I go back? Maybe yes. But can't say definitely.
