Aamod Resort

I had heard lots of good things about Aamod Shoghi in various sites and hence, I didn't take any chances and booked a cottage in Aamod Shoghi during our trip in Feb, 2013. We first went to Manali and then to Shimla. I was very much thrilled and curious about Aamod. And this is wat i found over there... 1. Shoghi is 18kms from Shimla, and Aamod is even 2kms further. They wud charge you Rs 800 from Shimla to Aamod. The entire 18kms stretch is a horror show. No lights on the road. Very few vehicles. 2. We were the only guest over there. All the cottages were empty. 3. The entire campus was dark at night. They said due to thunder storm lights were not working. Perhaps they don't have enof time and money to even repair them even when, a cottage is booked. 4. All the adventure sports costs around Rs.500 to 600 per event. 5. Food was awesome, no doubt abot it, but too costly. Even a mineral water bottle was charged at Rs. 45. A 200ml cold drink bottle was charged Rs. 40 to us. 6. Jacuzzi was not working, the same excuse again. 7. Not enough staffs to pay heed to all your requirements instantly. 8. If you are a single couple, you will be frightened to come out of your cottage after sunset. It all looked a SCARY HOUSE. 9. The most horrible thing, the cottages has transparent glass window panes on all the four sides of the walls which was very unsafe especially if you are on a honeymoon trip. So take my advice. 10. Few hotel staffs were loittering around our cottage and even used to enter the balcony.
