Club Mahindra Whispering Pines

Apart from being great well maintained resorts, Club Mahindra is known for its hospitality & courtesy towards guests and members. Service, hospitality & courtesy which is absent in Club Mahindra Whispering Pines, Mashobra, Shimla. It seems staff members would have been more happy if guests would not have come to the resort. Travel Desk and Room Service however is satisfactory. House keeping is sub standard. Unless you ask them they will not even replace used bed sheets or even soap or toilet paper in the toilet. Fun Zone provides no fun for children. Only one TT board, 2 Crrom boards and one Pool board is there. There is no one to take care of the children for child activities like other Club Mahindra Resorts of Munnar, Coorg or Mussorie. There is no kitchen in the apartments. The menu card for in house dining provides very few dishes compared to other Club Mahindra resorts. Moreover one bed room apartments have no valley view for which guests come to Shimla. Our stay was in Club Mahindra Whispering Pines, Mashobra, Shimla was like just any other average costly, imaculately maintained, well furnished posh hotel with no hospitality. As a Purple Member of Club Mahindra I wonder whether Club Mahindra is losing its hospitality touches or this is restricted to Club Mahindra Whispering Pines, Mashobra, Shimla only. If the latter is right then all staff members of Club Mahindra Whispering Pines, Mashobra, Shimla needs several rounds of training in Club Mahindra Resorts of Munnar, Coorg or Mussorie. Sorry for calling spade a spade, but this review may contribute for an improved hospitality for other guests and members in Club Mahindra Whispering Pines, Mashobra, Shimla.

Himachal has always enthralled me and this time i wanted a quiet serene place to unwind. Club Mahindra Whispering Pines mashobra is not a huge property but a very well maintained one with rich wodden panellings and great ambience. The view from my room was awesome .......greenary topped by mountain ranges. The resort has very well appointed rooms and soothing decor. We had a get together in the evening with dance performance by staff wherein we too joined in to match a few steps on Himachali songs. My wife had a treat as they had set up live chat counters and of course the dinner was unmatched as always. Morning walk to the adjoining forest land was bliss. We walked right upto the magnificent wild flower hall had lunch there and then drove back in a local cab. Mashobra offers great advantage as we have various getaway trips within 70 - 90 kms be it Naldera Golf Course, Tattapani , Fagu or kufri. Each offered us a different experience. The staff gave us royal treatment and made our stay memorable . The food was excellent and we carry back great memories of a very relaxed and special vacation at Club mahindra mashobra

I stayed in this beautiful resort with my wife for couple of days & found each day better than the other. The hotel is so beautifully located in the lap of nature that you feel like staying here forever.... The staff is so dynamic & friendly that they make you feel at home.... I bet there is no hotel close by which gives you such an amazing experience that you forget rest of the world for a few days!

Our family visit to the resort recently left us only with fond memories of the place. The resort and staff are fantastic. Special mention for miss aisha and miss babita (but including others at front desk, at fun zone, & spa) who went out of their way to not only guide us but encourage us to have the best experience of shimla and himachal. Would love to go back, if oppurtunity permits.

Excellent and courteoeus staff. Our train(Shivalik Express) was late by 4 hours but the cab arranged from the resort was still waiting for us. Though we didnt get a valley facing room as requested(we were told that there are only 4 1bhk rooms in the resort), we got a very spacious 1bhk with 2 LCDs. The room was excellent . Room service was prompt. Special Kudos to Shaiendra's team at the travel desk who take special care in arranging the service for you. Pros: Great Room, Effecient Room service, Excellent travel Service, Very relaxing environment Cons: The see through bathroom door was a bit weird for us !!, Pretty small resort when you compare to Coorg/Munnar or the other cottage resorts.. , No balcony in the 1bhk. The evening events definitely has scope for improvement :-)) Travel tips - a)There are not too many places in and around Mashobra unless you are combining it with Khadaghat .. and your trip to Narkanda/Kurfi would be worth it only if there is snow. b) Naldehra golf resort... you dont get to go inside but the kids would definitely enjoy the horse ride(safe as both side of the trek route is bolstered with a steel mesh fence) and there is a real python which you can wrap around for a Rs 20. There is a also photo e session available with Himachal dress (the charge is on the higher side but the guy as promised delivers the photo to your resort same day evening by 6:00 pm) . c) Tattapani sutlej river rafting and Hot water spring bath - The rapids are few(if you take the 6 km ride) so if you are looking for an adventurous rafting this might not be your cup of tea... this is more for kids(8+) . Put all your valuables phone/purse/digicams into the water proof bag he gives.. trust me if you have it on you.. it would be soaking wet by the time your rafting ends.There are places where the raftman would stop for photosessions... . The Hot water at the resort Hot Water Springs is more of a family affair as they give you a choice of a private pool(14 ft X 10 Ft) room I think .. you are also given a dress for your pool activity(the hot sulphur spring water is pumped into this pool). This is very relaxing and you have complete privacy. The resort also arranges for a simple lunch and Launders your wet dress from the rafting. My advice would be take it as a whole package - rafting/lunch/hot water spring pool experience. d) Simla local Shopping - Lakkar Bazaar, Mall Road. The Ridge... This gives a nice European feeling you can walk down.. laze around.. sip some hot beverage and do your sovenir/simla shopping. e) Jhaku Temple, Viceregal Lodge etc.. you can plan one trip to places around Simla.. the main ones being Jhaku temple which is a 108 ft Hanuman statue and the viceregal lodge at Summer Hill f) Lastly - DONT MISS THE TRIP by Shivalike express. The route is very scenic .99% of the time Shivalik will wait for Howrah Kalka mail to arrive at Kalka. There are not too many hotels at kalka so best would be to come by Kalka mail if you are coming from Delhi.
