Hotel Broadway

stayed in the hotel in the month of November 2012. Room services and food etc. was good but the hotel was remotely situated. view from the balcony was worst one. If some one require to have hotels of great view, one should not choose this one.

Very overpriced..... Rooms are above average for Kashmir budget hotels. Service levels are better than most hotels in Kashmir valley. However nothing can justify the room tariffs except lack of competition. Bad location, in a stinking lane. Wonder why they have a pool ... no one uses the same & there was layer of something floating when we were there. Very overpriced pool side barbecue & bar.

We recently spent a short night (less than 12 hours) in this hotel when our Spicejet flight was cancelled and we were abandoned by the airline. All the better hotels in Srinagar were full and we were glad to get a room at the Hotel Broadway. That is, until we arrived. The place is a decaying dump. The rooms are ragged, with stained carpets. All the furnishings are tacky and worn. The lampshades are torn and broken. The toilet seat was loose. The bed was a solid wooden base covered with a thin mattress. The airconditioning is a stand-alone unit which sits in the middle of the floor with a metal pan underneath to catch the water. The hot air from the unit is expelled through a long flexible hose attached to a board stuck in an opened window. To be fair, the shower did work pretty well but that was the high point of our stay. To cap it all, we were charged a "discounted" rate of 10,500 rupees - about $190. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't accept a credit card because "the line was down". Sure! They made me go to an ATM (at 5:30 in the morning) to get cash. Forget "old world charm" - this place is just plain "old". Stay here if you must, as we did, but never from choice.

Located in the central part of Srinagar (near MA Road / Golf Course), this is a lovely old world property. Safe and caters to need of all kinds of travellers - business, family, international, domestic. They also arrange taxi/cab service for exploring Kashmir and Ladakh region. 10 mins walk in the evening can take you to Dal Lake while you explore old bakeries and road side kebab shops in Srinagar. Recommended if you are looking for options other than houseboats.

I would recommend my friends and others to stay in Broadway Hotel when they go to Srinagar because that Hotel is very satisfying hotel. Like no other. They have complete accommodations.
