Kankarwa Haveli

Very nice heritage hotel. Stayed for two nights in November 2012. This is a zero frills hotel which is all about location and feel. In these two points it really delivers. It's within a few minutes walk of the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. Food is served on top of the building with a very romatic view of the lake. Breakfast is sort of a la carte. The omelet was actually pretty good. Dinner is also pretty good and authentic. The hotel feels more like a home or B&B. I would recommend Jaiwana Haveli right next door if you are looking for something a bit more hotel like. We had a nice dinner there also on the rooftop. It's hard to rate this accommodation. It doesn't really pretend to be something it's not. So rating it against a hotel with the usual amneties and service offerings seems a bit unfair. On the other hand this is how I rate so I'll stick to that measure. If you don't need any amneties or service but just a place to sleep in an authentic setting in a great location you want be disappointed with the value this hotel offers.
