FAIR AND FESTIVALS Among the prime fairs organized in several parts of this district are Narsing Maharaja. Arjun Awliya, Dhengo Mengo, Ambanath, Moreshwar Maharaja, Rudramani Devi, Ramnavami, Ganesh Utsav, Shambhushek Maharaja, Birbalnath Maharaja, Qalandar Baba Urs, Ambarnath Saint, and Balaji. Shirpur Shirpur is a large village in Washim tehsil, which has many important historical forts. Narnala Wildlife Sanctuary The sanctuary is hilly and rugged consisting of Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests. Teak, Ain, Tiwas, Salai, Sawar, Erythrina, Lendia, Dhawda, Grewia, Dhaman, Buchanania, Bamboo, Kusum, Sterculia, Moha are the principal plant species in the area. This sanctuary is located 40-km away from the Akola city. jasmine shrubs are found abundant in this wildlife sanctuary.
