    Kedarnath sanctuary situated in Chamoli district was founded in 1972. The sanctuary sprawls over an area of 967 sq. kms of the Garhwal Himalayas. The fauna includes Panther, Musk deer, Black and Brown Himalayan bear,  Sambhar,  Scrow, Thar, Ghoral and Monal Pheasant.
