    Chittaurgarh Fort
    The majestic Chittaurgarh fort sets atop a hill covering an area of 700 acres. It is believed to have been built by the Maurya rulers in the 7 th century AD. This massive structure has many gateways out of which Padam Pol, Bhairon Pol, Hanuman Pol and Ram pol are the prominent of all. The impressive tablets and the exquisite chattris are the perfect examples of the lavish Rajput architectural style.

    Vijay Stambh
    This imposing statue was built in 1440 AD by the might ruler of Mewar, Maharana Kumbha to commemorate his victory over the Muslim rulers of Malawi and Gujarat. Vijay Stambh is 37meter high with nine stories, covered with beautiful sculptures of Hindu mythology and illustrating episodes from the two great epics -Ramayana and Mahabharata.

    Kirti Stambh
    One of the most remarkable structures of Chittaurgarh is the 22 meter high Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame). It was constructed by a rich Jain merchant in the 12th century. The tower is devoted to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankar (Revered Jain preacher). The elaborately carved figures of the Jain pantheon adorn the Kirti Stambh.

    Rana Khumba’s Palace
    This ruined edifice of great historical and architectural interest is situated inside the imposing Chittorgarh Fort. It is believed that Ran Padmini and other women committed Jauhar (self-immolation) in the underground cellars of this palace to protect their honor and pride.

    Padmini Palace
    The magnificent Padmini Palace was royal residence of the queen of Rawal Ratan Singh, Rani Padmini. The Palace overlooks a tranquil lotus pool with a historical pavilion. Ala-ud-din Khilji, (The sultan of Delhi) saw the reflection of Queen Padmini from here and was so enthralled by her beauty that he decided to obtain her as booty. This led to a furious battle, which saw the mass suicide of women in the fort.

    Kalika Mata Temple
    The massive fort of Chittaurgarh houses the ancient temple thatwas originally built as a Sun Temple. It dates back to the 8th century A.D. The temple was later on, converted in to Kalika Mata Temple in the 14th century. Dedicated to goddess Kali, the temple is visited by large number of devotees through out the year.
