Panna, the land of diamonds lies in a verdurous valley surrounded by lofty hills and dense forests. The ancient name of Panna was Padmawati-Puri, which is mentioned in Vishnu Purana and Bhavishya Purana. It is believed that, Panna once served as the capital of Raja Dhadhichi and Padmavat during satyug. This picturesque land is dotted with age-old temples and fort that strike a delightful blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Explorations revealed that it was once the home to primitive men in early historic period. Famous for its diamond mines; Panna is the most sacred pilgrimage for the devotees of Pranami sect all over the world.
