Pemayangtse Monastery
Situated at Gyalshing, the impressive Pemayangtse Monastery commands a spectacular view of snow draped Mt. Kanchendzonga. Originally a small Lhekhang, it was built by Lhatsun Chenpo in the 17th century. Pemayangtse Monastery belongs to the Nyigma order and houses numerous religious idols and other objects of worship, wall painting, sculptors and other precious antiquities. A religious dance called Cham is organized in the month of January and February at the premises of the monastery.
Sangachoeling Monastery
It is one of the oldest gompas in Sikkim after Pemayangtse Monastery. Built in 1697 Ad, Sangachoeling is highly venerated amongst the Nyingmapa. It takes around forty-five minutes to reach Sangachoeling Monastery from Pelling.
Kechepalari Lake
Considered sacred by the people of Sikkim, Kechepalari Lake is hidden by a lush green forest. It is believed that the birds nesting in the forest do not allow a single leaf to fall in this tranquil lake.
Sangay Waterfall
This 80-meter high waterfall is just 10km from Pelling. It is a popular tourist spot and offers innumerable trekking opportunities.

By Air: Bagdogra is the nearest airport, which is well connected with Kolkata’s Netaji Netaji Subhash Airport. It is 20km from the main city. From Bagdogra, one can hire private taxis or jeeps for Pelling or for Gangtok.
By Rail: New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri of district West Bengal is the nearest railhead. From there, private taxis, buses and jeeps are available for Pelling.
By Road: Regular tourist buses, private jeeps and taxis connect Pelling with (145 km) Gangtok, Siliguri (133km) and Kalimpong.
