    Hirakund Dam
    Hirakund dam is the longest Dam of the world that lies in the secluded dignity across the Mahanadi River. It sprawls in an area of 1, 33,090 Sq. kms which is more than twice the size of Ceylon.     How to get there

    By Rail: The nearest railhead is around 3 kilometers from the town; one can go there by an auto-rickshaw. There are direct trains to Bilaspur, Calcutta, Jhansi, Bhubaneswar, and Delhi. Most of these trains also stop at the Sambalpur Road railway station.

    By Road: The bus stop situates at the heart of the town and there are buses daily for Puri. A better option is to catch the morning bus for Cuttack and then another to Puri.
