Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
A Yatra representative will meet you at a location convenient to you in Cochin and transfer you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel of stay. Check-in at your pre-booked hotel.

After relaxing for a while, you will be taken on a half day tour of Cochin’s popular sightseeing attractions. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, see the Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church and Santa Cruz Church. After exploring the city, return to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 2: Cochin - Periyar
After a hearty breakfast, set out on a lovely scenic drive to Periyar, about 180 kilometers from Cochin. Upon arrival at Periyar, a wildlife centre and scenic hill station in central Kerala, you will be taken to Spice Village Resort. The resort is nestled in the wilderness of Periyar in the western ghats of Kerala.

As you arrive at Spice Village, you will be treated to every imaginable shade of green, speckled with the scarlet and yellow of mountain flowers. This will be a world of rubber plantations, coffee, spices, and rolling highlands with cool mountain breeze. The resort has a sparkling pool, badminton and tennis courts, indoor games and an Ayurveda centre. The local tribal architecture is reflected in the cottages of Spice Village with its brick, split bamboo and elephant-grass design. There are 52 cottages, sprawled over eight acres of tamed forest, across Private Garden Cottage and Spice Garden Cottage categories.

After checking-in at Spice Village, you will have an orientation session with the resident doctor. You are at leisure for the rest of the day to explore the facilities at the Ayurvedic centre and soak up the vibrant greenery. Spend the night at the resort.

Days 3 to 8: Ayurvedic Therapy at Spice Village
The resident doctor will help you plan your program, and also suggest your diet and the therapy you should go in for. During this period, it is advisable to refrain from exerting yourself and for best results, avoid alcohol, tobacco and adhere to a vegetarian diet. The therapy involves various herbal massages, steam baths and yoga. If you follow all the directions of the vaidya (therapist), you shall experience an overwhelming sense of wellness. Spend the nights at the resort.

Day 9: Periyar
By the 9th day, you will be through with the rejuvenation therapy. This is the best period to relax and allow your body to acclimatize after a weeklong massage ceremony. Spend the night at your hotel

Day 10: Periyar - Cochin
Today, you could do a boat safari in Periyar lake past ancient tree limbs protruding out of the water. Keep an eye-out for wildlife such as elephants and deer grazing with gay abandon or a rare bird perched on the bare tree trunk. And if you are lucky, you could chance upon the great Indian tiger in its natural habitat.

After lunch, drive back to Cochin. You will be dropped at a convenient location in Cochin for your onward journey.
