About Lufthansa Airlines

Lufthansa Airlines Logo

Lufthansa airlines, one of the leading airlines of the world, came into existence in 1926 and was recreated in 1954. Deutsche Lufthansa AG, based in Cologne, Germany, is the flag carrier of Germany and is also the largest European airlines in terms of the overall number of passengers carried. The name-Lufthansa airlines- is made of two words: Luft (meaning "air" in German), and Hansa (after the Hanseatic Trade Organization of Medieval times). The main hubs of its operations are the international airports of Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin.

Lufthansa airlines was formed following a merger between "Deutsche Aero Lloyd" (DAL) and "Junkers Luftverkehr" and the company's original name was Deutsche Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft.

After the end of World War II, Lufthansa was the airline of West Germany and, due to the Cold War, it was banned from entering the airspace of East Germany. The end of communism led to removal of these restrictions. Lufthansa is also a founding member of the largest airline alliance in the world, the Star Alliance. Its India flights cover the cities such as Delhi, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata.

Lufthansa airways has well developed and structured arrangements for flying First Class, Business Class and the Economy Class travelers. The First Class is provided on the long-haul routes whereas the Business and the Economy Class travel is provided on long-, medium- and short-haul routes.

Lufthansa First Class experience is not merely a concept of the onboard seating and special in-flight amenities. It begins right from the ground when the First Class travelers reach the terminals of its select hubs that have the First Class terminals and lounges. It provides limousines services for taking the waiting First Class travelers to the aircraft. On board, Lufthansa airlines provides restful and relaxing environment with ergonomically designed seats-cum-full beds made with comfortable materials, soothing interiors, amazing variety of audio-visual entertainment options in different languages, good dining experience with delicious regional dishes and the best wines from around the world and the high-quality kits of branded toiletries for the fliers of this class.

Touching an altogether different hi-end class of travelers, it provides the services of the private jets with direct flights to the more than 1000 places around Europe, Russian Federation and North Africa.

The Lufthansa online booking for the Business Class can be done on all the three haul-routes. Exclusivity with good and comfortable seating and relaxing space is the hallmark of long-haul services. Lufthansa adopts the distinctive practice of keeping the seat next to the Business Class passenger seat empty to provide more space.

The Lufthansa airlines Economy Class, on all three types of haul routes, also provides comfortable seating with wide array of entertainment options and tasty meals. The Economy Class Lufthansa online booking can be done in two tariff formats: Economy Flexi and Economy Basic. The former gives the travelers the advantage of availing the same travel flexibility options as in the business class whereas the latter is essentially a low-priced option for the budget travelers willing to fly with Lufthansa.
