A landlocked country in Central Europe, Czech Republic came into existence in 1918 with the collapse of the Austria - Hungarian empire at the close of the First World War. Visa- Citizens of the US and of some more than 50 countries do not require visa to visit the Czech Republic for a limited period of time. Citizens of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and Singapore are allowed to stay up to 30 days without visa. Whereas for citizens of Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Costa Rica, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands (included Curacao), New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States of America, Uruguay and Vatican are allowed to stay up to 90 days without visa.

Foreign Exchange- It is common to get fleeced with the crown notes that have been discontinued or worthless Polish, Bulgarian or Yugoslav notes. Avoid black market exchange. Use a bank or regular exchange office service. The main Forex banks and offices are located in Prague and are usually open on weekdays between 8am to 5pm.
