Republic of Iceland is a country of northwestern Europe. Its capital and largest city is Reykjavík. Skeidararsandur-With an area of approx. 1000 km˛ this is one of the largest alluvial plains of the country while the distance between the glacier's edge and the sea is between 20 and 30 km
