Gulfoss Waterfall: This stunning double folding fall is considered one of the natural wonders of the world. Gulfoss is also by far Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park: Situated in a stunning volcanic landscape of mountains and lava flows on the border of Iceland’s largest lake, Pingvellir National Park is a nature reserve and a site of historical, cultural and geological importance. It is one of the most visited places in Iceland. Since 2004, the park is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Blue Lagoon: This man made lagoon is certainly one of the most visited places and the most photographed feature in Iceland. Blue green algae and white silica mud form light natural sediment on the bottom of the lagoon, giving it an opaque, aquamarine color, which makes it the most ghostly water body of water in the world. The water of the Blue Lagoon is rich in minerals and is considered to have medicinal properties.
