Tourist Attractions in Romania

Merry Cemetery:Located in the village of Săpânţa, Maramureş County, Merry Cemetery is famous for its colourful tombstones with naïve paintings that describes in a poetic manner about the persons that are buried there well as scenes from their lives.

Palace of Parliament: This majestic building is one of Romania’s biggest attractions. Known for its immense physical, psychic and historic stature, it is perhaps the most controversial building in Romania. The Guinness Book of World Records has listed the Palace of Parliament as the world's second-largest building by surface area after the sneakily spacious US Pentagon.

Stavropoleos Church: Built in 1724, during the reign of Nicolae Mavrocordat (Prince of Wallachia 1719-1730), by the Greek monk Ioanikie, Bishop of Stavropole, this remarkable church is dedicated to St. Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The décor of the church is a fantastic mélange of anthropomorphe and zoomorphe elements. The characteristic of the framings is the stone-sculpted floral decoration, an element of the brancovenesque style.

Voronet:Located in the town of Gura Humorului, Moldavia, Voronet is one of the famous painted monasteries from southern Bukovina now in Suceava County. It is considered by many to be the “Sixtine Chapel of the East” due to its magnificent frescoes placed on the West wall. Voronet Monastery is probably the most accomplished sample of Moldavian artistic achievement in architecture and painting.
