Pin Valley National Park situates in the cold desert region of the Spiti valley was declared a national park in 1987. The park renders as the habitat of a number of endangered animals including Snow Leopard and Siberian Ibex. The elevation of the park ranges from 3,500 meters near Ka Dogri to over 6,000 meters at the highest point. Alpine trees, patches of Himalayan cedar and bits of several medicinal plants dominate the vegetation of the area.
