Everything about the SpiceJet Web Check-in Service

Among the most preferred airlines of India, SpiceJet is a low-cost carrier (LCC) with a market share of about 12 per cent in the nation's aviation sector. The growing popularity of the jetliner among flyers has allowed it to expand its business. This air passenger carrier recently announced that it will soon launch 41 more flights and induct six new aircraft in its fleet. In August 2015, SpiceJet achieved the highest passenger load factor of about 92 per cent, beating all its competitors by a huge margin. There are a number of facilities that this airline provides to its customers to make their experience more delightful than usual, and SpiceJet web check-in is one of these. By using this service, you can avoid the lengthy queues at the check-in counters at the airport. You can go through all these formalities while sipping a cup of coffee at your home, office or hotel room. Using your laptop or smartphone, go to the official website of the airline and select the SpiceJet check-in option. The page then asks you your PNR number and email address. Here, instead of the latter, you can also put in your first name, last name, origin city and the destination city. After filling in all the required information, click on the “Begin Check-In” button to move to the seat selection page. The interactive seat map gives you complete information about all the available slots, from which you can pick your favourite. After the process is complete, the system prompts you to print your SpiceJet boarding pass and the customer’s copy.

Important Things to Know

If travelling with luggage on domestic routes, then you can make use of the SpiceJet online check-in facility. Overseas passengers with baggage do not have this option, and they have to use the airport counters to complete all the pre-flight formalities. Flyers with infants or those, who have opted for a wheel chair, cannot check-in online. In case you have lost your online boarding pass, you do not need to deal with a SpiceJet customer care executive on the phone, or at the airport. You can simply use this service to reprint your pass and avoid the trouble of contacting the carrier’s representatives. Last but not the least, you need to know what time you have to reach the airport after checking-in online. While domestic travellers need to get to the airport at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure, the limit for international travellers is one and a half hours.
