Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (IATA: GAU) is also known as Guwahati International Airport. It was formerly known as 'Borjhar Airport' and provides remarkable air connectivity to multiple destinations across India and the world. Managed by Airport Authority of India, the airport also serves as an Indian Air Force base. Located in Borjhar in Guwahati, the airport is named in honor of the renowned freedom fighter and the first chief minister of Assam after the independence of India, Gopinath Bordoloi. You can also opt for local taxi operators who will take you to the city center in a shared van or small car. Usually, you will be dropped off at the Paltan Bazar by the pre-paid taxis.
