Looking for 4 star hotels in Leh

Situated high up in the Himalayas, Leh is famous for its Buddhist heritage, picturesque views, diverse trekking ranges and markets selling rare spices, fabric, and grains.

During the days of the Indus Valley civilization, it was one of the main centers for trade on the silk route and has since grown into one of the most coveted tourist destinations. Leh is home to many palaces and mosques and while there may not be too many 4-star hotels in the city, there are plenty of other hospitable hotels that accommodate the needs of weary travelers.

The weather conditions are similar to those of a desert, with cold winters and pleasant summers with very little rainfall. It’s no surprise that the summer months are when the city is thronged with tourists. The old city gives a view of mud-brick houses with flat rooftops and densely connected networks of lanes which open up into fields of barley.

Leh can be reached by traveling up the mountains of Manali. The highway connecting Manali and Srinagar to Leh is blocked during heavy snowfall, but the routes from the Indus Valley are almost always open due to the low amount of rainfall received there.
