On arrival we were told that the expected jeep trip to get us to the river safari would have to be taken in our minibus. Not ideal or fair on our driver and tour operator! The boat safari was excellent with a knowledgeable guide and sightings of Ghangetic River Dolphins and Gharials and a lovely sunset. The bus trip back to the lodge through the village was exciting..... Dinner was very average except for the freshly cooked starters, rooms we had were old and grubby with noisy a/c and fans, breakfast was not great and generally we felt that no one cared as we were captive guests. There was no sign of the much mentioned family owners but we did receive a discount on our drinks when we said we felt we had not had a good experience. Could do better...... Needs more local competition!!

We spent two nights here coming from Delhi where we started our 3 week trip around Rajasthan. The lodge is truly delightful, a haven of peace and quiet which was very welcome following straight on from the noise and pollution of Indias capital city. We are both keen on birds and our guide Bachu was brilliant in locating many different species seen on our all too brief stay here. We did the early morning river safari on the Chambal River where we spotted many different birds as well as turtles, crocodiles and the splash of a few dolphins. The river is so clean (not deemed to be holy and this is definitely an upside!) Our room was very spacious and the food delicious - our host Mr Singh was very happy to engage in conversation with us about all manner of things. Highly recommended and thanks to our agent in the UK for suggesting it - a great buffer between Delhi and Agra.

We stayed here for three nights during our Golden Triangle trip and this was a very relaxing stay after the hectic life of the big cities. In fact, we wished we were staying her for longer as there is so much to see and it is such a beautiful and relaxing setting. The staff were delightful and we also met the owners who were most generous with their time and advice. Our naturalist Bachu made sure we saw much more than we would have spotted on our own - 63 different birds as well as mammals and reptiles. The chance to visit a village homestead was particularly fascinating and sensitively managed. Superb.

We visited Chamba for a couple of daysl soon after arriving in India, after the hustle and bustle of Delhi, and our only regret - we wish we'd stayed longer. The Bungalow was great, spacious and spotlessly clean, in the evenings we could sit outside and watch the birds at dusk - we had a couple of owls that came to visit us, fruit bats were nearby and Peacocks roamed the grounds. The food was excellent, all freshly prepared to a high standard. But of course the highlight was the Safaris. We did a morning bird watching safari where we saw a wide range of birds including many varieties od Stork and Crane. In the afternoon on the lake we were fortunate enough to see a femal dolphin with her offspring swim close to the boat - absolutely wonderful with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide.
