We had a lovely stay at Chambal Safari Lodge. Our hosts were kind and very helpful when my husband's camera needed replacing at short notice! Our very knowledgeable guide Bachchu took us to see Sarus Cranes, Black buck and many, many new birds and animals on the Chambal River. We enjoyed this place - comfortable cottages, a great central meeting place with lawns and shady trees and superb food - what more could you want!

We were two couples traveling in India for one month. We stayed at the Chambal Safari Lodge for two nights. From the moment we arrived we knew that the Chambal Safari Lodge was a special place. We were greeted by Gaj who introduced himself to us as our naturalist guide for our stay. The property takes you back in time and place. The main area is a converted Horse stable, and the structure, design and ambiance were a delight. We stayed in a large guest suite with a front porch, and a private veranda in back. Our friends were in the adjoining suite. Anything one would need was accounted for. It was cold during our visit, but our room had a portable electric heater, thick heavy comforter and hot water bottles in the bed. The bed was comfy and we slept very soundly. The food was delicious with a great mix of both local and western cuisine. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. Our guide Gaj was a delight and really enhanced our experience. We did a nature walk on the property, a walking visit the village, and amazing river safari that was teaming with birds, and wild life. We highly recommend this winderful Lodge for a unique and memorable experience.

A lot of people come here to see the nearby Chambal River Sanctuary for birding, there are excellent possibilities here. I wanted to see the Gharials and River Dolphins which I did beside others. The lodge provides you with a very knowledgeable guide and you stay in nice, spacious and clean cottages hidden into the landscape. At night you can sit around a fire enjoying a drink. The meals are Indian and good. Only thing that they are quite expensive compared to similar accommodation. The staff is very nice and helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Chambal River where we saw many big Gharials, Marsh Crocodiles and river dolphins etc. Our excellent guide was from the Chambal Safari Lodge, where we had a most comfortable two night stay. He also gave us some very good tours of the Lodge grounds and local village. All most interesting and given with such enthusiasm . The grounds attract quite a selection of wildlife.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and we wished we could have stayed longer (sadly my husband was ill during our stay but he was exceptionally well looked after by everyone at the Lodge). A delightful welcome on our arrival, cosy drinks around the camp fire and delicious meals with an ever attentive chef on hand. The Naturalists are ever attentive and direct their comments towards the things they realise where your interests lie. The team are a credit to the owners!! Anu, thank you, and your team for your kindness - we will always remember our stay and your kindness at Chambal.
