The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Stayed on 07 Sep 2020 for 1 night (2 Adult) on a business trip, Room no 309. The Good: 1. Ease of booking through Ginger toll free number. Ginger hotel is backed by Tata brand. 2. In a happening location with major international brands & restaurants within walking distance. 3. Large rooms, desk with chair, good quality bed & bed linen, clean & spacious bathroom. The Bad: 1. Check-In process was inefficient, No coordination between call center & front desk as they were not informed about prepayment. Had to show them the proof of payment. 2. Charged Rs.800 for drivers night stay with breakfast (parotha & tea). 3. Rooms were not ready with amenities, had to ask for water bottles, towels, cups, teabags & soap. The Ugly: 1. When requested for amenities, the house keeping staff said he will have to do Jugaad, since owners were not providing the same. 2. We were on a CP plan, requested for breakfast at 8:00am a night before, as we had to leave early. After much request & yelling we got our Poha & omlette without bread at 8:45am. We paid Rs.500 more for a mediocre breakfast. Verdict: 1.The quality of room & location qualifies for the best budget Hotel. 2. Don't expect service from the hotel staff. 3. Do not take the breakfast plan. There are very good restaurants in the vicinity. 4. Tata brand is at stake. 5. Blame it on Covid.

I stayed in room 308, and this is my experience at ginger, SG road Unprofessional check-in and duty manager was cocky, never experienced that instead of greeting the guest you fisrt ask for id, is this you front office S.O.P. Overcharge for driver facility that was promised and provided. No room amenities on room arrival and when asked housekeeping, he said i will do jugaad, are we asking for something wrong? Extreme delay in breakfast lead to getting late, this is just not acceptable, i am here on buisness trip and have a schedule i cannot afford to waste time. Also, dont brag about things you dont have, i understand the covid situation but sti if you cant provide something be honest about it because that is what is expected from a reputable chain by tata. P.S- had expectations but was let down terribly.

Hotel was nice. I didn't expect the hotel to be so nice, Food was fantastic. But the staff was excellent. Check in was easy. Reception was courtesy and respectful. The room was beautiful and clean. Check out was fast. Overall it is a good hotel.

The price was reasonable and location was close to shopping malls, restaurants and main area. Hotel staff were nice and clean. They were helpful with questions. I will surely stay again when in Ahmedabad.

Overall stay was good. Tarun Prasad was exceptionally good and thorough professional member from the hotel team. Precautions were in place. Front desk was always manned. Thank you and Best Regards Sunil

We stayed in room 304. The window seat was very helpful.

Pls try and take the third floor corner room...they are quaint and have two glass windows for better view and the furniture is new.
