My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days, however, we wish we could have stayed much longer given how perfect our experience here was. This is a highly recommended property for people who are super tired with their busy lives in the city and genuinely crave for a break. Situated in the beautiful and humble Marari village (about 30 mins from Alleppy), this property had me smitten right from the word go. It is an ancestral property turned into a homestay place and it is so so tastefully done up. Right from the obvious elements such as the pool, the rooms, the dining area to the finer details such as the overall decor and cute little stuff that you keep changing upon during your stay, everything has been done really thoughtfully. The place is very close to the beach and the owner has provided for canoes which could be taken to the beach in case one doesn't feel like walking up to the beach. The place is quaint and extremely peaceful. Also, the staff and the service is super efficient, warm, and friendly. The chef is quite talented and dishes out amazing eats from the local cuisine. Also, it was our anniversary and these guys were so amazing to arrange a quiet romantic candle-lit dinner with a cake for us (super special). We spent quite some interacting with the owner, a localite, who is quite helpful and resourceful. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone.

I'm so excited to write a review for this place. It's so wonderful! The staff and owner are just all really incredible people. The rooms, the pool, the neighborhood area, the grounds, the beaches.... everything was wonderful. For those interested in ayurveda (home to this region) even the food went along with the teaching of ayurveda. Every morning as soon as I would wake they always offered fresh juice, followed by an incredible breakfast. The chefs even make fresh coconut milk for my coffee each morning. Justin and Roshin (the team of chefs in the kitchen) are just the sweetest most caring people that want their food to be the best and for the people eating it to be nothing but happy. Each meal was so creative and fresh and just wonderful. The owner takes such pride in the property and it shows from the care given to the entire place and the people that come there. As solo female traveler, it felt so safe and so clean and just a wonderful respite compared to the hustle that some parts of India can take on. Rikshaws, bikes, canoes, taxis were all sorted for us anytime we wanted or needed it. I couldn't recommend this place more! It's such a perfect location to journey to for a bit of R&R whilst traveling through Kerala. Enjoy this lovely spot!

As a group of friends we arranged to meet and stay here to celebrate a very special birthday as a finale to touring different parts of India! Absolutely Perfect! Beautiful homestay in peaceful surroundings with access to fabulous beaches via their canoes, bikes, or walking. Verun and team welcome you as friends and the hospitality is unbeatable. Accommodation is 4 lovely bedrooms with outside showers ... amazing! Dining on the balcony or garden wonderful food! The effort and help they gave in organising our birthday was outstanding ... at all times nothing was too much trouble. They helped to organise a fantastic Barbeque, garden lights & decorations, music, and local dancers ... a truly spectacular evening! Could return tomorrow!!!!!

We booked to stay here with two children age 11 for 3 nights at the end of a 2.5 week stay in India visiting relatives and travel round Kerala. We have stayed in numerous differents types of high end hotels in India- this house is of a brilliant standard and Varun and his team are great Hosts. The house is beautifully appointed - we had the back rooms over looking the pool- and spotlessly clean. The pool is lovely and warm. The garden and veranda allows for different areas to sit and relax in sun or shade with lovely area to eat in garden. Bedrooms are very clean and beds are very comfortable! The bathrooms are "roofless" which the kids loved! The kayak to the beach is very easy to do and the beach is great- waves are strong though so not a swimming beach but great for jumping in- and lovely to go and play/ watch sunset. For me it was the FOOD which was brilliant- the "icing on the cake"- great choice and "bespoke" in terms of spice etc ordered in advance by few hours and ALWAYS ready on time (great when you are feeding children!) lots of great options for the kids too (much loved chicken noodles). Lovely and fragrant and not expensive. Great Masala chai too! You can hear the road a little but after staying in busy city centres really was peaceful! Varun and his team are really very nice to be around- attentive but don't intrude and when we return to Kerala we will stay again. I would recommend booking DIRECT with Varun as he is completely honest or through booking.com- we booked through Airbnb and paid numerous additional service charges which did not filter through to Flamingo Villa!

A stay here is wonderful. The setting is idyllic. A short canoe ride or a ten minute walk take you to a wonderful quiet beach and a more developed beach is a two minute tuk tuk ride away. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They will rustle up snacks, juices, a tuk tuk , or advice about what to see at the drop of a hat. The open air - but completely private- shower and dressing rooms are great and the rooms themselves are very comfortable. No fridge or drinks making facilities in the rooms but you can ask to put things in their fridge. Breakfast is excellent and personal. Only 4rooms so very peaceful with a good 5by10metre pool. A fabulous stay in a great location surrounded by a lovely helpful community.
