What's Good: Everything
What needs to improve : Nothing
Reason For Rating : Biju, the owner is a fabulous guy. His home has the warmth and vibe that will not let you miss your own home. The food is super and the location is so quaint that for the sleepy heads like me it suits the most. However, walking distance from everything important. I could visit Allepey just to stay in this paradise again. Jack, the pet, took my heart away. I miss him sorely. :(

Everything was wonderful. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and secure. The warmth of heart of the owner made me happy and I liked relaxing around his beautifully decorated home. The communication before arrival was good and they were able to arrange an extra night for me at short notice. A lot of care is taken with everything from the delicious breakfast, juices and helpful map of the local area with landmarks and recommendations. The canoe trip through the backwaters that Biju arranges with a local man was fantastic and amazing value for money. And of course their darling pug Jackie was pure joy! Highly recommend this place, my favourite in my month in India.

I spoke with Biju several times over the month for a booking for my guests from Germany. He was super friendly and handles the situation quite good. He also gave my tips about places to visit nearby. Thumbs up.

We read the reviews of this lovely Homestay before booking for a 3 day stay as part of a tour of Kerala. Every good thing fellow visitors have written about this place is true. The house is lovely, the welcome is warm, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the boss (Jackie the Pug) is a real character. The humans who share the house with him are also extremely good hosts. Breakfast was very good too. Thoroughly recommend.

Jack is the elderly pug who keeps an eye on all activity in the homestay and is usually found sleeping with his head under the bottom rung of the stairs. Also hates having a massage. We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Rooms are large and comfy and the breakfasts, continental and keralan are excellent. The host Biju goes out if his way to assist and ensure your stay is comfortable. There is a "mud map" of the local attractions and eating places. Thaff restaurant is really good. It is an easy walk to the ferry stop through quiet back lanes. The canoe trip with the local guide Mr Kungachan is an excellent day out involving an hour ferry trip there and back, homemade breakfast and lunch and a canoe down very quiet backwater canals to see how the locals live. Bijou also recommends things to do and see and can organise a taxi or tuk tuk. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Biju and his wife are fine hosts who make you very welcome with nothing being too much trouble. They really wanted us to make the most of our stay with them and provided useful information regarding trips as well as helping us to make arrangements. They went to exceptional lengths to celebrate my wife's birthday, including a lovely presentation of roses at breakfast and cakes and candles in the evening. The breakfast was plentiful and included both western and Keralan options. Their Homestay provided a tranquil escape in a busy town and their local knowledge was invaluable in helping us to enjoy our time in Alappuzha.
