Great location and welcome from the staff. Peaceful and so near the beach. Great food. Local fish caught that day. Clean and comfortable. Really helpful staff who went that extra mile in service. Simple room but in an ideal location near beautiful unspoilt beach.

We arrived on 25 December 2017 in total darkness - suddenly figures appeared and transported our luggage and two slightly bewildered travelers to what appeared as a shed. Well we wanted to see the world so it was Bananas and Juice for Christmas Dinner. Morning revealed 3 dwellings directly on the beach and we were served pancakes and chai. We spent 5 days doing nothing and enjoying it immensely the days just slipped by with the occasional tuk-tuk trip (mostly to the local liquor store). Food was plentiful and the pace s l o w. Our hosts arranged a driver for the next 2 weeks who was a wonderful kind young man who went out of his way for us. On our last evening our hosts sang songs and danced around a camp fire and we of course were invited to take part. I wonder if they can remember Oh Happy Day - the most appropriate song I could think of at the time. It is not cheap - but who puts a price on kindness?

The hotel is very simple. One big room with a cozy bed, hooks for clothes and minimum of other furniture. A bathroom with running hot water. It's situated just on the beach. To get to some cafes you need to walk along the beach about 1km. I personally don't recommend as the food we had in the hotel was very tasty and not expensive. And after the one we tried on the beach we suffered with our stomachs. The soul of every house is its owners. Here they are absolutely amazing people, extremely polite, caring and helpful. You can take your meal or just enjoy your time in cosy chairs on the terrace. There is no ac in the room but for us a ceiling fan was absolutely enough. I'd add mini fridge, TV and at least a small wardrobe for the comfort that's why giving 4 points out of five. If you are searching for a home stay away and don't require modern facilities - this is the place!

We felt most welcome, when we arrived we recieved a wonderfully refreshing pineapple juice. The area is genuine, lots of fisherman staying closeby and beach untouched (except by all the millions of sand crabbs). Rooms has fans only but it worked well without ac. It was suprisingly noisy - borda scrieking all night and dogs on one occasion tried to open our (thank god - locked) door after we had gone to bed. Our hosts were quick to scare the dog away though. Lina prepared a very well tasting dinner and they also helped us to arrange a riksha for the morning after to get us to the alleppey public boat transportstion to collam, which worked very well and cost us only 350rupies (ca 30min drive). I would recommend this place for people Looking for a genuine experience, but in our opinion it was a little too pricy for the standard of the room and location on the beach.
