We were warmly welcomed to this delightful quiet homestay reached by canoe along the backwaters. The garden is beautifully kept and attracts a wide variety of birds and butterflies. The food was well cooked and delicious. there was always ample cold water in the fridge and beer if requested. whilst here we arranged for an Ayurvedic massage which was superb and very reasonably priced. Professor Chacko and his wife were excellent hosts supported by their caretaker.

We had the most wonderful stay at Nelpura with Chacko and his family. You are in the heart of a real Indian backwaters village here and we loved it. The meals were memorably delicious. Still dreaming about the banana fritters done in coconut oil that we were served for afternoon tea on the verandah! Plenty to do, such as walking the myriad of paths around the village, scenic backwaters cruise, local ayurvedic massage, and going on a village tour with Chacko. We were their first visitors after the unfortunate floods but everything was 100% and back to normal so don't hold back on visiting this wonderful homestay.

We stayed here for 2 nights and this is an exceptional place to stay. It is quite remote and is on one of the backwaters and was reached by canoe. The rooms are comfortable and the food was very good and the service is excellent. It is a very relaxing place to stay and there are good walks from the homestay. The owner is a charming man and is very interesting to talk to. It is an ideal place to relax at.

We loved every minute of our stay with Mr Chacko and family. We were made to feel very welcome, enjoying our meals in their house and a cookery demonstration of how to prepare local dishes. We also enjoyed walking around the local canals and villages and watching amazing birds in the beautiful garden.
